The Indian automobile market is growing consistently, as we keep experiencing new products at frequent intervals
In this post, we take a look at the specifics of the upcoming cars in India in April 2025. The Indian automobile market is the third largest in the world. In the last few years, the demand for personal mobility has been rising quite aggressively. As a consequence, carmakers are introducing new models or updating the existing ones to keep their portfolios fresh. Also, many new carmakers have emerged to grab a bite of the huge pie. For now, let us see which vehicles to look out for this month.
Upcoming Cars in India in April 2025
Maruti e Vitara
Let us commence this post with the Maruti e Vitara. It has been in the news for a few months now after being on display at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi in January. It is the first electric car from the largest car marque in the country. There will even be a Toyota counterpart to the e Vitara. On the outside, it bears a rugged and muscular appearance, while the cabin contains the latest tech and connectivity amenities. It is aimed at attracting new-age car buyers.
In terms of powertrains, there will be two battery packs on offer – 49 kWh or 61 kWh. Based on the new HEARTECT-e platform, the electric SUV will bear an eAxle (3-in-1 unit including inverter, motor and transmission). In ideal settings, one can expect a driving range of around 500 km on a single charge. In addition to that, the power and torque figures range from 142 hp / 189 Nm to 172 hp / 189 Nm and 181 hp / 300 Nm (AWD), respectively. The higher trims will even get the ALLGRIP-e technology for an all-wheel-drive configuration to distribute torque as per the requirement. It has a ground clearance of 180 mm and weighs between 1,702 kg and 1,899 kg. We might finally see the launch towards the end of this month.

It has been quite popular in recent times. However, a new-generation model has already been on sale in many international markets in the last few months. Now, even India will get this as a full import, which means an astronomical price tag. We saw it at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. There are some modern elements on the outside to distinguish it from the previous model.
However, the list of features inside the cabin is rather lengthy. The top highlights include a Large Free-standing Touchscreen Infotainment Display, Two-spoke Steering Wheel with Multimedia Controls, Virtual Cockpit Driver’s Instrument Cluster, Soft-touch Materials, Premium Audio System, Dual Wireless Smartphone Charger, Sliding and Reclining Rear Seats, Ambient Lighting and much more. Under its hood, you will find a familiar 2.0-litre turbo petrol mill which churns out a decent 190 hp and 320 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. There will be a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission on offer, and the prices could be well above Rs 50 lakh.

What will most likely remain unchanged are the specifications. It will most likely continue to carry a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates a familiar 115 PS and 144 Nm, a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol mill which churns out an impressive 160 PS and 253 Nm or a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine which produces a healthy 116 PS and 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively.
