Shifting our focus to the Indian auto giant, Tata Motors will launch the Punch EV in our market in 2024. We have seen it performing road tests on multiple occasions. In addition to a few design updates, it will most likely powered by the same electric heart as the Tiago. This means a 25.58 kWh Lithium-ion battery provides an estimated range of approximately 320-350 km on a single charge. The electric motor is poised to deliver commendable performance, generating 74 hp and 114 Nm of peak power and torque. Driving the front wheels through a single-speed transmission, the Punch EV is projected to accelerate from 0 to 80 km/h in roughly 13.5 seconds. Hyundai Creta Facelift
Hyundai Creta is the highest-selling mid-size SUV in our country. In the international market, the facelift version of the Creta has been launched a few months ago. But since the demand for the existing model is so high in India, the second-largest carmaker in the country didn’t feel the need to launch the facelift version just yet. Still, 2024 might finally be the year when we get to witness the facelifted Creta. Hyundai Creta EV
Interestingly, the electric variant of the Hyundai Creta might also finally launch in 2024. It will have the body of the new Creta which is sold in the international markets. We are sure that there will be some distinct elements to set it apart from the regular model. In fact, it could borrow the powertrain from the Kona Electric. The latter is not selling well in India. Therefore, the Creta EV could replace it easily. It may come equipped with a 39.2 kWh Lithium-ion polymer battery pack that drives a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). Mahindra XUV300 Facelift
The compact SUV from Mahindra is also slated to get a facelift in 2024. We have spotted it testing on multiple occasions now. It will get tweaks to the exterior design slightly in addition to some new bits on the inside. However, what will remain the same are the powertrain options. It will get the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine in two variants – one producing 110 hp and 200 Nm, and the other delivering 130 hp and 230 Nm of peak power and torque. Mahindra XUV400
The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is based on the XUV300. Therefore, as the XUV300 gets a facelift, so will the XUV400. Note that the XUV400 is longer than the XUV300. It comes with two battery options – a 34.5 kWh and a 39.4 kWh LFP battery, both boasting an IP67 rating for durability and protection. These batteries power the electric motor, providing a notable 150 PS and 310 Nm of peak power and torque. Thanks to this robust powertrain, the EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 8.3 seconds, showcasing impressive speed. Its maximum speed is conveniently limited to 150 km/h. Depending on the battery variant, under optimal conditions, it offers an impressive range of 375 km and 456 km on a single charge. Mahindra Thar 5-Door
Arguably the most anticipated launch from Mahindra in the immediate future will be the 5-door Thar. It has been testing for a long time now. It will have two additional doors and a large space inside the cabin in comparison to the existing model. It will retain the powertrain options from the regular Thar.
