CBR300R
Estimated Price | Rs 2 lakh – 2.2 lakh |
Launch Date | April 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 300cc |
The CBR300R is the bike that replaces the CBR250R. To that end, it features different styling elements such as twin-headlamps that it derives from CBR600RR and CBR1000RR. The CBR250R is a great motorcycle but now feels old. Expect this bike to offer ABS as optional equipment, among improvements in the engine department. However, there will still be a single cylinder engine powering this bike.
CBR250RR
Estimated Price | Rs 1.8 lakh – 2.1 lakh |
Launch Date | September 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 250cc |
Probably one of the most awaited upcoming bikes in India in the entry-level performance segment, this bike has a razor sharp design that makes the bike look fast even when at a standstill. Power for this bike comes from a single cylinder 250cc engine but expect its engine to make more power than CBR300R.
CB650F
Estimated Price | Rs 3.8 lakh – Rs 5.7 lakh |
Launch Date | April 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, parallel-twin, 650cc |
This is the bike which acts as the base for multiple middleweight bikes in Honda’s lineup. It looks nice and has a twin-cylinder engine that displaces 650cc. It should be able to handle daily city commute and highway stints with ease. Why? Bikes like these are usually tuned to make their power low down the rev range. Expecting the same attributes from this bike will not be a bad idea.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 from Royal Enfield
There are many upcoming bikes in India coming from Royal Enfield. The company now wishes to play in the big leagues. Its test mules have been spotted not just in India but also abroad. Also, there are reports of the company working on a 750cc powerplant. Let’s see what the company has planned for us.
Continental GT 750
Estimated Price | Rs 3.7 lakh – Rs 4.2 lakh |
Launch Date | Latest by August 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, parallel-twin, 750cc |
The Continental GT is one of those bikes that made Royal Enfield a force to be reckoned with. Known for making simple, reliable bikes meant for highway cruising, the Continental GT was the first cafe racer it made. It showed the masses that Royal Enfield can dip its hands in multiple segments and be successful too. However, to compete with foreign brands, Royal Enfield is coming up with a 750cc parallel twin cylinder engine. This engine is sure to find its way in the Continental GT as it is the most off-beat motorcycle in the company’s lineup. Since it is a cafe racer, Royal Enfield will also be able to showcase the new engine’s capabilities in this package.
Himalayan 750
Estimated Price | Rs 3.5 lakh – Rs 4 lakh |
Launch Date | April 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, parallel-twin, 750cc |
After the cafe racer Continental GT, Royal Enfield entered another niche segment in motorcycle market – dual-purpose motorcycles. How did it do this? With the Himalayan. However, the current Himalayan has a sub-600cc engine. The 750cc parallel twin engine Royal Enfield is developing may find its way into this bike too. This will give the Himalayan some much needed firepower to go up against the competition from abroad. This will also help in growing Royal Enfield’s sales numbers, which are on an upswing in international markets.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 from TVS
TVS has been garnering quite a bit of attention since its tie-up with BMW Motorrad. However, few can deny the impact it has had on India’s performance bike scene with its Apache range. TVS does have a few products for us in future. Let’s take a look at them.
Apache RR 310S
Estimated Price | Rs 1.7 lakh – Rs 2 lakh |
Launch Date | February 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 310cc |
This is the bike so many people are waiting for. The Apache RR 310S sports the same engine as the BMW G 310 R. However, with the drag reduction offered by a full fairing and use of light construction materials, this bike will surely be lightning fast. TVS has already demonstrated its sport bike-building chops with the smaller Apaches and this will be the crowning jewel of the Apache range
Apache RTR 200 4V FI
Estimated Price | Rs 1.7 lakh – Rs 2 lakh |
Launch Date | October 2017 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 200cc |
Another much-awaited bike from TVS is this. While the Apache RTR 200 4V went on sale some time ago, its fuel-injected version is yet to be out. Once out, the bike will join the ranks of other 200cc bikes that come with a fuel-injected motor. Not only will this aid this bike with emissions, but may also help in introducing some new technologies in the Apache range down the line. As per TVS’ official website, the fuel-injection system for Apache RTR 200 4V FI is being developed by Bosch.
Jupiter 125
Estimated Price | Rs 55,000 – Rs 60,000 |
Launch Date | February 2018 |
Specifications | Carbureted, single-cylinder, 125cc |
The Jupiter, on sale right now, has a 110cc motor. This limits its appeal somewhat to an around-town commuter. Giving it a 125cc engine will help this scooter become more friendly for use on highways too. Also, since scooter sales are on a rise, giving a scooter more power is not a bad idea. Let’s see when TVS pulls the trigger on such a move.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 from Bajaj
Bajaj has tasted success with most of the bikes it has launched in the recent past, the last one being Dominar 400. Its partnership with KTM has benefited Bajaj to a great extent. Its bikes such as the latest Avenger and Pulsar NS 200 have also fared better since their re-launch in the market. Is there room in the bike maker’s lineup for more products? It seems so. So here’s our list of Upcoming Bajaj bikes in India –
Dominar 200
Estimated Price | Rs 80,000 – Rs 90,000 |
Launch Date | Latest by Q3 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 200cc |
The Dominar 400 has been quite successful for Bajaj. However, being the only bike in the range does not help the bike’s cause. To ensure there are more takers for the Dominar brand, Bajaj may just introduce this smaller version of the Dominar 400. Doing so will make the Dominar brand appeal to more buyers and make it accessible, too. After all, there is always demand for muscle cruisers that offer relaxed ergonomics and sportbike levels of power.
Avenger 400
Estimated Price | Rs 1.5 lakh – Rs 1.8 lakh |
Launch Date | Latest by Q2 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 373cc |
The Avenger brand has been doing great since Bajaj relaunched it in the market some time ago. With the re-launch, Bajaj was able to widen the appeal of the brand to masses. However, it’s probably time the Avenger reaches out to some premium bike buyers. This will be done by introducing a 373cc engine, from the Dominar 400, in the manufacturer’s only cruiser bike available.
Pulsar NS 150
Estimated Price | Rs 60,000 – Rs 75,000 |
Launch Date | August 2017 |
Specifications | Carbureted, single-cylinder, 150cc |
Probably one of the most awaited of all upcoming bikes in India, the Pulsar NS 150 should launch here by August 2017. Pulsar NS 200 is the bike that showed Bajaj’s chops when making sport bikes. However, while the NS 200 utilised the KTM 200 Duke as its base, the NS 150 will be a different bike. Having less displacement (150cc) means not only will it have less power but it will be light too. This will help it deliver the sportbike experience buyers look for for a not-so-high price tag.
Pulsar RS 400
Estimated Price | Rs 1.6 lakh – Rs 1.7 lakh |
Launch Date | January 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 373cc |
The Pulsar RS 200 has piqued the interest of many buyers. What if the bike had a bigger engine, many ask. Well, we are eager to find out what that means too. However, while it did not seem possible earlier, the entry of Dominar 400 has made the idea seem more plausible. Now, Bajaj has the right engine and platform to make a sportsbike bigger than RS 200. Also, it can make the bike for a lesser cost than even the KTM RC 390, which will make this upcoming Bajaj bike immense value for money.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 from Hero MotoCorp
Since its split with Honda, Hero has struggled to retain the momentum it had during the Hero-Honda times. However, the company has been braving the proverbial storm to stay relevant. With its new bikes, it may be able to once again reach the summit of Indian two-wheeler sales charts. To do so, it is likely to launch a handful of bikes at the Auto Expo 2018. Here’s a list of all upcoming bikes in India from Hero MotoCorp
Xtreme 200S
Estimated Price | Rs 81,000 – Rs 83,000 |
Launch Date | February 2018 |
Specifications | Carbureted, single-cylinder, 200cc |
The Xtreme may be a reminder of the times when Hero and Honda were together. It is a competent bike nevertheless, something Hero can use to its advantage. By giving it a 200cc engine, Hero will be able to showcase its technological prowess and that it is not dependent on its past to make something for the future.
New-gen Karizma
Estimated Price | Rs 1.3 lakh – Rs 1.5 lakh |
Launch Date | February 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 250cc |
The Karizma was the first big displacement made-in-India bike. Over the years, it went from carburetors to fuel-injection and semi-fairing to full-fairing. However, the rather oddball facelifts did little to enhance the sales performance of this bike. Hero could be now looking at redoing this bike to give it a better shot at the market. The ‘Karizma’ moniker enjoys a high brand recognition and this is likely to work in favour of the next ‘zma twins.
New Impulse Facelift
Estimated Price | Rs 80,000 – Rs 85,000 |
Launch Date | February 2018 |
Specifications | Carbureted, single-cylinder, 150cc |
Before we had the Himalayan, we had the Impulse. This on-off road bike had a 150cc engine and coupled with a high riding suspension setup, made for a capable bike. However, this bike was ahead of its time and hence, did not set sales charts on fire. The market for on-off road bikes is now growing and it would be the right time for Hero to bring the Impulse back in new form.
Duet-e
Estimated Price | Rs 65,000 |
Launch Date | Latest by Q2 2018 |
Specifications | Electric motor |
This is the two-wheeler that Hero can use to showcase its technical prowess. The Duet-e is an electric scooter, which means zero emissions. At a time when there is great concern expressed over air pollution in cities, this may be the solution we need. A two-wheeler already has a smaller carbon footprint than a car. Now factor in an electric two-wheeler. That’s affordability and environment consciousness in one package. Not just that, the practicality of a scooter is undeniable. Try carrying stuff, that you can on a scooter, on a motorcycle and you will know.
HX250R
Estimated Price | Rs 1.5 lakh |
Launch Date | February 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 250cc |
The HX250R is something Hero has shown us in the past. Not much is known about the bike. However, going by the name, it seems it will utilise a 250cc motor. Also, it will be the first big bike Hero has made on its own since its parting from Honda. Yet to enter production, this is one of the few bikes we are eagerly waiting for.
Hastur
Estimated Price | Rs 3 lakh – 5 lakh |
Launch Date | May 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, parallel-twin, 620cc |
Will you just look at that? A bike that looks as if it belongs in a Transformers movie! The Hastur is a concept bike from Hero that has a 620cc parallel-twin motor. Showcased at the past Auto Expos, this is one bike that garners a lot of eyeballs. The Yamaha MT-09 also looks quite outlandish and still find takers. This tells us that there is a place in the market for this bike too. Rumours hint at a May 2018 launch date.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 from KTM
KTM is known all over the world for its dirt bikes. However, when it came out with the Duke/RC range of bikes was when everyone saw the Austrian company’s ambition. Partnering with Bajaj helped it churn out great products at relatively low costs. Improved margins meant more money for the company to spend on developing new products, some of which are India-bound Do take a look at the upcoming KTM bikes in India-
390 Adventure
Estimated Price | Rs 2.5 lakh – Rs 2.8 lakh |
Launch Date | February 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 373cc |
The KTM 390 Duke makes for an interesting bike as a platform. You don’t have to look any further than RC 390 and what a fine job KTM has done with it. Now just imagine a dual purpose bike spawning from the same platform. That’s 390 Adventure for you and it should be as good as it is to talk about. After all, KTM’s expertise is in making dirt bikes. Now that it also makes capable road bikes, time to make a bike that can tackle both terrains with ease. This is what this 390 Adventure should be.
200 Adventure
Estimated Price | Rs 2 lakh – Rs 2.2 lakh |
Launch Date | February 2018 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 200cc |
The KTM 200 Duke presents a great proposition. A great chassis with a great motor that can used to make different bikes. Now that a sport bike has been derived from the platform, how about a dual-purpose bike next? If history is any proof, the 200 Duke and 390 Duke platforms share a lot in common. Let the 200 Adventure be another common point between the two platforms.
RC 250
Estimated Price | Rs 1.9 lakh – 2 lakh |
Launch Date | October 2017 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 250cc |
With the introduction of the facelifted KTM bikes, we also got the 250 Duke. However, what if someone wants a more powerful bike tan RC 200 but not as manic as RC 390? The answer could very well be this – the RC 250. A bike derived from 250 Duke’s platform, the RC 250 can be a good bike for those looking for a faster bike than RC 200 but slower than RC 390.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 – Yamaha
Yamaha recently launched the FZ-25 in India. The Japanese bike maker is now expected to bring some of its other products to India too. The MT-03 is one such product. Not just that, Yamaha is also planning to re-launch the YZF-R3 in the Indian market. Read on and find out the details on all upcoming Yamaha bikes in India 2017-2018.
Fazer 250
Estimated Price | Rs 1.9 lakh – 2 lakh |
Launch Date | October/November 2017 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 250cc |
The Fazer 250 is based on the FZ-25. What differentiates the two bikes is the addition of fairing on the former. Keeping every mechanical aspect between the two bikes same, the Fazer 250 should be more user friendly in a variety of conditions, such as mixed highway and street use. That fairing should also help it in clocking a slightly higher top speed than FZ-25.
YZF-R3
Estimated Price | Rs 3.3 lakh |
Launch Date | November 2017 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, parallel-twin, 321cc |
The YZF-R3 was pulled from the Indian market out of the blue. While a great product, it had a few omissions such as lack of ABS. However, now Yamaha has the chance to reintroduce this bike in India with addition of features such as ABS. The addition of such features will help widen the bike’s appeal.
MT-03
Estimated Price | Rs 3 lakh |
Launch Date | December 2017 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, parallel-twin, 321cc |
The MT-03 is one of those products on which Yamaha India did not launch at the right time. During the 2016 festive season, rumour mills were rife with speculation about MT-03’s arrival in India. It is 2017 now and the bike is not yet in India. However, we are keeping our fingers crossed for this bike’s arrival in India around the end of this year.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 – Benelli
Italian bike maker Benelli has a range of products that cater to different segments. While the TNT 25 is the most inexpensive bike it sells, its costliest product is the TNT R. While most bikes it sells are naked bikes, the TNT 600 GT is the only touring bike the company sells. Will it be bringing any new products to India in 2017? Will we get to see one of its sportbikes in India? Let’s find out.
Tornado 302
Estimated Price | Rs 3.4 lakh – Rs 4 lakh |
Launch Date | July 2017 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, parallel-twin, 300cc |
The Tornado 302 shares its engine with the TNT 300, which offers as much as 36 BHP of max power and 27 Nm of peak torque. The Tornado offers similar figures. However, it does get an important addition in the form of ABS. Though Benelli bikes have not been the most popular in the past, the Tornado 302 may just be able to find some more buyers. After all, with the R3 gone, it faces less competition as a twin-cylinder 300cc sportbike.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 – Suzuki
Suzuki has not had the best of starts after parting ways with TVS Motors. Until the Gixxer and Gixxer SF came out, it felt as if the company was struggling to find its footing. Now that it has been able to gain traction, Suzuki does not seem to want to lose momentum. Hence, we think most of its additions should be to the Gixxer range. This is the reason why two of its upcoming launches here add to the Gixxer range.
Gixxer 250
Estimated Price | Rs 1.5 lakh – Rs 1.8 lakh |
Launch Date | July 2017 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, parallel-twin, 250cc |
The Gixxer 250 is the natural next step for Suzuki’s Gixxer range of bikes in India. After all, the bikes are quite popular in the 150cc space, where buyers can opt for a naked or a faired version. However, the Gixxer 250 will be the former of the two, if Suzuki plans to bring this bike to India. With sales of bikes with 200cc and above displacement on rise, now will be the perfect time for Suzuki to bring this bike to India.
GSX 250R
Estimated Price | Rs 2.5 lakh – Rs 2.8 lakh |
Launch Date | November 2017 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, parallel-twin, 250cc |
The GSX 250R will be the hardcore version of the Gixxer 250, if Suzuki brings it to India. We reckon it should do so at the earliest. That’s because the RC twins have been doing really good in the sport bike segment, signalling that even the GSX 250R will do good upon launch.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 – Jawa
We have covered the return of Jawa in great detail. However, even after doing so, we feel words can’t do enough justice to such an iconic brand. Hence, we will ask you to take a look at what the brand has in store for you in near future.
Jawa 350
Estimated Price | Rs 1.5 lakh |
Launch Date | 2019 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 350cc |
The iconic Jawa brand is soon going to return to India. The first bike from the brand will be the Jawa 350. Coming in with a 350cc engine, the Jawa 350 will feature fuel-injection and retro styling elements to make up for a retro-modern motorcycle. Expect the bike to launch soon as Mahindra may choose to capitalise on the buzz around the brand and the bike.
Upcoming Bikes in India 2017-2018 – SWM
SWM is an Italian motorcycle maker that was pretty popular for its dirt bikes. Revived just a few years ago, it is based out of a factory that was once owned by Husqvarna. Leaving history at that, this brand has a number of dirt and supermoto bikes that are powered by single-cylinder engines of up to 600cc. The bike it is expected to bring to India is its range-topper which comes with a 600cc engine. Read on to find out which bike it is.
Superdual T
Estimated Price | Rs 3 lakh – Rs 4 lakh |
Launch Date | Sometime in 2019 |
Specifications | Fuel-injected, single-cylinder, 600cc |
SWM may be based out of an old Husqvarna factory, but its products do seem to be quite versatile. The Superdual T, with which SWM is expected to kick start its innings in India, is a dual-purpose bike that has a 600cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine. Incidentally, this is the SWM’s flagship product and with it, the company looks to kickstart its Indian operations. Let’s wait for this bike and see what SWM has in store for us in future.
So, which of these upcoming bikes in India 2017 & 2018 are you waiting for? Do let us know!
