Adventure/Dual-Purpose bikes are usually preferred by off-roading and touring enthusiasts. These bikes are big and tall, but offer nimble handling.
In recent trends, the demand for ADV bikes has increased, even for daily practicality. People use it for long office commutes or out of the city tours. ADV bikes are also preferred because of softer suspension and comfortable seats.
Likewise, the upcoming adventure bikes will be tuned for off-roading as well as daily commuting.
The cheapest adventure bike as of now is RE Himalayan at around Rs 1.8 Lakhs. The costliest ones would include BMW R 1200 GS, which goes for over Rs 15 Lakhs.
So, here is the list of upcoming adventure bikes in India in 2019. We have mentioned the specifications, price expectations and possible launch dates.
Hero Xpulse 200
Hero Xpulse 200 comes as a replacement for the Hero Impulse. It was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo with Xtreme 200R, which has been launched for 6-7 months now.
Xpulse 200 gets a 200cc air-cooled engine, same as that on Xtreme 200R. The engine produces 18 BHP and 17 Nm of peak torque. Unlike Xtreme, Xpulse 200 gets a 6-speed gearbox.
The expected launch date for the bike is around June 2019. We expect the prices to be priced at Rs 1.1 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Hero Xpulse 200T
Xpulse 200T was recently showcased at the EICMA 2018 along with some other concepts based on Xpulse platform. Hero officials have already confirmed that Xpulse 200T will be launched here along with XPulse 200.
The biggest difference between Xpulse 200 and 200T is the purpose. While Xpulse 200 is meant for off-roading purposes, 200T is meant for touring.
Both the bikes share the same suspension setup – conventional telescopic at the front and mono shock at the back. However, 200T gets a longer travel.
The engine and other cycle parts remain the same between both the bikes. The prices are also expected to be similar, around Rs 1.1 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

KTM 390 Adventure
KTM India has delayed the launch of its baby ADV bike to a great extent. It was earlier rumoured to launch in 2018, later was expected to be showcased at the EICMA 2018.
Currently, the ADV has been spotted testing multiple times in India as well as the international markets. KTM India has confirmed that it will launch this year.
390 Adventure looks quite similar to the elder 1290 Adventure. Based on the spy photos, the bike looks quite slim and light.
For engine purposes, it will borrow Duke 390’s engine. The engine produces 43 BHP and 37 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine might get a retuned engine for better low-end performance.
As of now, the expected launch date of the bike is around mid-2019. We expect the prices to stay under Rs 4 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Benelli TRK 502 and 502X
Benelli has tied up with Adishwar Auto Ride India, after its split with DSK Motors. With the new partnership, Benelli plans to launch a couple of new bikes, which include the two upcoming AD bikes.
Benelli TRK 502 and 502X are launching on February 18. The dates have been confirmed and even the specifications are out. The only wait is for the prices, which will be out soon.
TRK 502 has already been spotted testing in India. It gets the typical traits of a touring motorcycle with all the right fitments. TRK 502X is a more of a focused off-roader. Major differences between both include a different styling and set of tires.
The expected price of TRK 502 and 502 is around Rs 5 Lakhs or so.

UM DSR Adventure 200
DSR Adventure 200 gets a 196cc air-cooled SOHC engine that produces 16 BHP and 16 Nm of peak torque. The bike comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
DSR ADventure 200 will find its biggest rivalry with Hero Xpulse 200. Both might come in a similar price range and obviously get similar power figures.
The expected price of the bike is around Rs 1.3 Lakhs. Based on reports, it might launch by September 2019.

BMW R 1250 GS
BMW GS series are globally popular off-roading bikes. Currently, BMW Motorrad has 1200 GS in production, which will get a significant update in 2019.
It will most likely get a new engine, new features and some revisions in the design. The ADV will get a powerful 1254cc engine that produces 136 BHP and 143 Nm of peak torque.
Feature additions will include two riding modes (Road and Rain), ABS, Hill Start control and Automatic Stability Control as standard fitments.
The expected launch date for the bike is by Q3 2019. We believe the price range might fall between Rs 18-21 Lakhs.

Triumph Scrambler 1200
The last one on the list of upcoming adventure bikes is the Triumph Scrambler 1200.
Scramblers are not much different from Adventure bikes. Scramblers are light, agile and ready to take any terrain.
Triumph Scrambler 1200 gets a more powerful 1200cc engine, that offers better torque and power in the lower end. The engine produces 89 BHP and 110 Nm of peak torque.
The bike will offer five riding modes – Road, Rain, Off-road, Sport and Customizable rider mode. The TFT instrument cluster gets an integrated GoPro controller.
The expected launch date of Triumph Scrambler 1200 is around May 2019. Our price expectations are around Rs 12 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
