UM Renegade Commando and other bikes in the lineup will be getting ABS by March 2019. Currently, the brand offers 4 American-styled cruisers in India.
Industry sources have confirmed that UM Renegade series will be updated with ABS by March 2019. It currently offers Commando, Mojave, Sport and Classic variants in India.
Currently, UM bikes are offered with a front disc brake and rear drum brake. We expect single-channel ABS to be offered onboard. Motorcycles in this price range offer dual-ABS as standard.
The pricing range of UM Renegade bikes starts from Rs 1.66 Lakhs, going up to Rs 2.00 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices). We expect the prices to increase by Rs 7000-10000 for the ABS update.

Other than the inclusion of ABS, we expect it to have no changes. UM Motorcycles are reminiscent of the old American cruisers. The styling, bodywork and the riding position defines its American roots.
UM Renegade bikes use the same engine setup. The 279.5cc 4 Valve liquid-cooled engine that delivers 25.15 BHP at 8500 RPM and 23 Nm of peak torque at 7000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Features onboard include a large fuel-tank mounted analogue speedometer, USB charging, Backrest and Electronic Fuel Injection.

For suspension purposes, UM Renegade bikes use 41mm telescopic forks and twin hydraulic shocks with spring at the back. Braking is handled by a 280mm disc at the front and 130mm drum brakes at the back.
UM Motorcycles is also planning to launch some new motorcycles as well as a scooter in India. At a recent dealer launch, a couple of UM bikes were spotted. Some of them were already speculated to launch.
UM Renegade Regal, another cruiser is rumoured to launch as the entry-level offering from the brand. UM DSR Adventure 125 and 200 are also launching in India, as the brand’s first ADV offerings.

It is also expected to launch a 150cc scooter, by the name Chill. A leaked presentation showed its specifications, which suggest that it will go against Vespa 150 and Aprilia SR150.
