Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S, Renegade Classic launched by UM Motorcycles at Auto Expo 2016
UM India Two Wheelers Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of Miami-based United Motorcycles Global, made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2014, where it showcased four of its products – Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport, Renegade Duty and Xtreet. The new motorcycle manufacturer has tied up with Lohia Motors in India to support the retail of its upcoming products. We recently spoke to Mr. Rajeev Mishra, MD at UM India Two Wheelers Pvt. Ltd. and he has stated that UM does not see itself as a direct comprtitor to Royal Enfield. Instead, their aim is to bridge the gap between the Bajaj Avenger and the Harley-Davidson Street 750. However, he aslo stated that they are working on a Harley Street 500-rival for the future. UM Renegade Commando at Auto Expo 2016
The Commando is the classiest of the three UM Motorcycles at Auto Expo 2016. It has got the ‘true blue’ cruiser looks that should make it really appealing among the cruiser motorcycle buying lot in the country. The single-cylinder 300cc motor should offer a good mix of power and fuel economy.

The showstopper at the UM Motorcycles Auto Expo 2016 stall has to be the Renegade Sport S. The bike is fantastically priced at INR 1.49 lakhs mark.
UM Renegade Sport S Competition
The highly successful Royal Enfield Thunderbird will be among this bike’s main rivals.
The Sport too, while missing out on some of the jazz of the Sport S, has a stylish design and looks every bit like a world-class cruiser should.
Powering the Sport range is a single-cylinder 279cc, liquid-cooled engine that belts out a max. power of 26.6 PS and a peak torque of 22.76 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The new UM Renegade Sport series could make for an interesting upgrade from the Bajaj Avenger.

UM Renegade Classic at Auto Expo 2016
Also a part of the UM motorcycles at Auto Expo 2016 will be the UM Renegade Classic. Details on this bike are scarce at this moment, but much like the other two models here, the new UM Renegade Classic will be powered by the manufacturer’s 279 cc single-cylinder water-cooled motor that belts out a max. power of 25 bhp @ 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 21.8 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Renegade Classic too get an 18-litres fuel tank capacity.

The new bike is priced at INR 1.69 lacs and is the most expensive UM Global product in India.

UM Motorcycles has ambitious plans for the Indian market. The products that will be sold in India will be manufactured locally and have been tuned specifically for Indian conditions. They will kick off their innings in India with 40 dealerships in tier-I and tier-II cities, expanding up to 50 dealerships by the end of the year.
