TVS-based Ultraviolette Automotive has unveiled the F77 electric performance motorcycle, with its price ranging between Rs 3-3.25 Lakhs (on-road).
India’s first electric motorcycle that is performance-oriented is here. Bangalore-based Ultraviolette Automotive has taken the sheets off the F77 electric motorcycle. It is India’s second electric motorcycle after the Revolt RV400.
It is not a normal commuting motorcycle, but something more exciting. The Ultraviolette F77 Electric motorcycle touches 0-60 km/hr in just 2.9 seconds, making it faster than some 200cc motorcycles in India. The 0-100 km/hr sprint can be achieved in 7.5 seconds.
The air-cooled motor on the bike produces 25 kW and 90 Nm, that is around 33 BHP of power. Going by the power figures, it is nearly equivalent to a 300cc motorcycle. That combined with its top-speed of147 km/hr, makes it an electric sportsbike.

Powering the motorcycle is a 4.2 kWh removable lithium-ion battery. The claimed riding range of the F77 is 130-140 kms, which is quite impressive given that we have a performance bike here. In real-world, the range should not come down below 100 kms.
For charging the battery, it takes around 5-6 hours on a standard charger. A fast charger will be able to do it in just 1.5 hours. Inside the battery, there are actually 3 slim li-ion batteries which are combined to power the motorcycle.
The Ultraviolette F77 electric motorcycle sits on a steel trellis frame and weighs just 158 kgs. The suspension is handled by USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. For braking, you get front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The registrations for the Ultraviolette F77 have commenced, while the deliveries will begin in Q3 2020. At the price range of Rs 3-3.25 Lakhs (on-road), it is costly but that’s not very high from the price of a 250-300cc motorcycle. Initially, F77 will only be sold in Bengaluru.
