The production-ready version of the TVS Graphite was spotted cruising on a highway in Karnataka. The same was captured by youtube “One Life To Travel” and the same was posted on his youtube channel. We are sharing this video for educational purposes only. We encourage our readers to always follow the speed limited issued by the local government and to wear proper gear at all times.
Evidently seen in the video is the youtuber riding an Aprilia SR 150 while chasing the TVS Graphite test mule at speed over 110kmph on long stretches. This specifically proves that the latest offering from TVS is going to focus on sportiness and high-speed cruising capability that will be unparalleled to the current competitors.
The sporty bodywork and alloy wheels are evident in the video while the high speed signifies a powerful engine in line to or excess of 150cc. TVS showcased the Graphite scooter in a concept guise back at 2014 expo. The concept showcased petal discs at both ends improving the safety standard and allowing the rider to enjoy high-speed cruising without worrying about the stopping power. A digital instrument cluster, in the form of an Active-LED console, providing the rider with all the important info at all times will also be carried over from the concept albeit slight changes to make it more user-friendly and cost-effective to keep the final price in check. The same will enable the rider to log ride data and offer connectivity options.
Further mention of the Graphite concept leads us to the 30 mm telescopic fork suspension employed at the front and a rear gas-charged monoshock. The most innovative feature of the concept was the AMT gearbox mated to paddle shifters to shift gears manually further enhancing the sporty character of the scooter.
The design cues were influenced by the engineering process of a stealth aircraft. The engineering department gains from TVS’s motorsport legacy and will inherit some of the technologies developed under the program.
Apart from this, TVS Graphite will feature an engine immobilizer and smart ignition key. The uni-light at the front will be carried over to the final version as well. Upon launch, it will directly compete with Aprilia 150 SR which has been ruling the segment alone till now. Stay tuned for more updates on the TVS Graphite.
