COMING SOON- TVS Apache RTR 300

TVS Apache RTR 300 has to be the most awaited of all upcoming Indian performance bikes.The upcoming TVS Apache flagship is likely to launch in July, 2017. Prices could start at Rs 1.72 Lakh. Recently, one of our dear readers sent us a handful of ‘first ever’ images of the production-spec Apache RTR 300. As these images reveal, the Apache RTR 300 is based on the Akula 310 concept that we saw at the Auto Expo 2016. The TVS Apache RTR 300 will be the first-ever fully-faired motorcycle from TVS Motor Co. While the bodywork is all new, engine and many other parts will come from the BMW G310R.

As can be seen in these spy images, the TVS Apache RTR 300 looks really sporty. Much of this is owing to the full fairing, twin headlamps, clip-ons and splite seats. Quite unsurprisingly, the Apache 300cc misses out on the carbon fibre bodywork of the Akula. It’s not for sure but many rumours have it that this bike will go on sale with any of these three names- TVS Raptor 300, Apache 300, Akula 310. In India, the Apache 300 will face competition from the KTM Duke 390, Bajaj Dominar 400, and even the Yamaha R3.

The upcoming TVS Apache model was recently spied by one of our dear friends. As you can see in the above images, the RTR 300 looks a lot like a slightly toned-down version of the Akula 310 concept we saw at the Auto Expo 2016.

There are good chances that the new TVS 300cc model will launch in July 2017. Safely expect us to update you as soon as the manufacturer announces the official launch date. As the image below shows, TVS has already filed for the trademark registration of its new baby.

Non-ABS	Rs 1.72 Lakh
ABS	Rs 1.90 Lakh

Thanks to a more powerful engine and many more features, the new model 300cc Apache will cost more than the Apache RTR 200. All this means that in all likelihood, the RTR 300cc will have a starting price of roughly Rs 1.72 Lakh. At the above price point, the new 300cc RTR model will directly or indirectly compete with these bikes –

TVS Apache RTR 300 Specifications

Engine	Single-cylinder, Fuel-Injected 313cc
Max. Power	35 PS
Peak Torque	27 Nm
Transmission	6-Speed Manual

Engine for the 300cc Apache RTR model will come from the BMW G310R. For the new TVS, however, it will have a different state of tune. We expect this 313 cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder water-cooled engine to output 35 PS and 27 Nm for the productions-spec Akula. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
