TVS is one of the few Indian companies to make such a sporty bikes a a TVS Apache RTR which comes in two avatars, one with 160 CC engine and one with 180 CC Engine. Also the RTR 180 comes with an optional ABS feature which is first from any Indian two wheeler manufacturer. With everyone in the automobile Industry overhauling their old models and giving them a fresh look to compete better against the competition. TVS is not far in this game, the Apache RTR is going through some makeovers and will break covers soon with an improved version.

The newer version of RTR is expected to have some design improvements, some improvements on the handling and weight distribution, also the engine maybe tweaked or retuned for improved performance. There is no official word on when the new model will be launched, but considering that the Auto Expo 2012 is just a few weeks away from now, we think that we can expect an unveiling and launch during the same time frame.
As of now, the TVS apache comes in two engine options. The 160 CC variant produces 15.2 BHP @ 8500 RPM and churns out 13.1 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. Its coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission. The power to weight ratio of RTR 160 is an agile 117.76 BHP per 1000 Kg. The RTR 180 delivers 17 BHP @ 8500 RPM and 15.5 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. It comes with a power to weight ratio of 124.08 BHP per 1000 Kg which is also a remarkable agility. Both bikes are good on their handling and cornering capabilities. The new versions are expected to improve them father, lets wait and watch what is in store from the TVS.
