TVS Apache RTR 200 FI ABS Launch Soon; Teased!

Hosur-based South Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor Company, will soon launch a new variant of the TVS Apache 200 4V. It’s worth a mention here that the 200cc Apache was launched over a year ago, but got only carbureted engines. While the new motorcycle won plenty of accolades for its free-revving motor and great dynamics, people have been anticipating the launch of the fuel-injection plus ABS model. Well, it looks like the wait will soon get over as the company will soon launch the much awaited TVS Apache RTR 200 FI ABS model.

While official launch details are yet to come, the manufacturer recently updated its website with a teaser image with a caption that “something exciting is coming your way”. Not just this, even the official website of the new TVS Apache RTR 200 ABS FI model has gone live. All this is a proof enough that the launch isn’t too far away in the offing. The 200cc Apache was launched in H1, 2016 and got an update earlier this year. This update brought in a BS4-compliant engine and AHO. While prices of the Fuel Injection version were revealed back at the time of the launch, it’s only now that this variant will officially go on sale.

Thanks to a really high demand for the carburettor variants, the manufacturer couldn’t launch the fuel injection version with ABS. However, it now seems like the company has managed to not only increase its manufacturing capacity but have also fine-tuned the FI engine for its market launch. With the fuel injection, this 197.75cc, oil-cooled engine outputs 0.5 BHP more power than the carburettor unit. More refinement and smoothness are a given.

TVS Apache RTR 200 FI ABS Launch Date

The manufacturer is yet to reveal the official launch date. However, going by the fact that the company has already released the official website and has even started teasing the new motorcycle, we are sure the new FI ABS version will launch in a month’s time. Also, it’s now for sure that the Apache RTR 200 fuel injection version will launch much ahead of the TVS Apache RR 310s.

TVS Apache RTR 200 FI ABS Price in India

The carbureted version of the Apache RTR 200 has an ex-showroom price of Rs 92,915. The FI version has an ex-showroom price of Rs 97,125. It’s very likely that the new TVS Apache RTR 200 ABS FI will have an ex-showroom price of roughly Rs 1.10 lakh.

TVS Apache RTR 200 FI ABS Specifications

The new Apache RTR 200 ABS FI model will get its juice from a 197.75cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that benefits from fuel injection. The motor comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Compared to the carburettor model, the fuel injection makes the new bike 0.05 seconds faster to 60 KMPH and 0.5 BHP more powerrful. Thanks to FI, the engine now outputs a max. power of 20.7 BHP at 8,500 RPM and a peak torque of 18.1 Nm at 7,000 RPM. The new TVS Apache RTR 200 ABS FI version retains all the other specifications.

TVS Apache RTR 200 FI ABS Mileage

Thanks to introduction of fuel injection, the new bike will not boast higher refinement and more smoothness, but will also offer slightly higher mileage. Currently, the bike offers roughly 32 KMPL in city and around 40 KMPL on the highway. The FI model, in all probability, will offer a max. mileage of roughly 35 KMPL in city and around 42 KMPL on the highway.

The Apache RTR200 ABS FI has a top speed of 129 KMPH. It can dismiss 60 KMPH from a standstill in just 3.9 seconds. Compared to the carbureted version, fuel injection makes this bike marginally quicker by 0.05 seconds.
