TVS Motor Company, the Hosur-based South Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, plans to soon launch its most powerful and the sportiest production motorcycle. Christened the TVS Apache RR310s, this new motorcycle made its public debut at the last Auto Expo as the Akula Concept. The TVS Apache RR 310s. The upcoming flagship is based on the BMW G310R streetnaked. The launch of the TVS Apache RR310s will happen early next year, probably, after a showcase at the Auto Expo 2018.

While the RR310s made its public debut as the Akula 310 concept back at the last Auto Expo 2016, its launch is likely to take place only after the next Expo. Hence, the new bike is around 3-4 months away from us at the moment. As you can see, the company has already prepared the brochure and other promotional material. Hence, the launch can’t be much far away.

The Apache RR310s will become the most expensive motorcycle from TVS. It is likely to go on sale at a starting price of Rs 1.72 lakh. The fully loaded model could cost even higher, at around Rs 1.90 lakh. With this, the new motorcycle will take the fight straight to the likes of KTM RC200. Of course, the new TVS bike will be much more powerful and sportier than the RTR200 4V.

The new TVS Apache RR310s gets the same 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that can be found on the BWM G310R. This is the same engine that will also power the G310 GS adventure motorcycle. This modern engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 35 PS at 9,500 RPM and a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 RPM. The Apache RR310S will come with a 6-speed Manual Transmission that will send power to the rear wheels via a chain drive.
As with the case with all Apache models, the RR310S will be lighter than, say, its Bajaj Pulsar challenger. Yes, this bike will have to lock horns with the Dominar 400. While not a direct competitor, both will have largely similar power figures. As for the suspension, the RR310S gets upside-down telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear. It gets disc brakes on both the wheels and a dual-channel ABS is likely to be available at least as an option.

The RR310S will come with a modern engine that will be high on power. However, thanks to all the modern technology the motor will be able to deliver a mileage of at least 26 KMPL. It could even deliver upto 32 KMPL on the highway. We are pretty sure that this bike will offer a good mix of performance and mileage.
