TVS Motor Company, the Hosur-based popular South Indian two wheeler manufacturer, will soon launch its most powerful production motorcycle ever – the TVS Apache RR310s. The TVS Apache RR 310s made its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 as the Akula concept. This design study previewed a fully-faired performance motorcycle based on the BMW G310R streetnaked. It’s being said that the TVS Apache RR310s launch will happen around Diwali and prices of this bike will start at Rs 1.72 lakh. The new model will go on to rival the likes of KTM RC200. A patent image of the upcoming motorcycle has leaked on social media months ahead of the launch.

For our country’s bike market, the Apache RR310s will become the first jointly developed motorcycle by BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company. Also, it will become the fastest, the most powerul and the most expensive TVS motorcycle ever. The BMW G310R and G310 GS are definitely headed to India and will be sold alongside the Apache, probably for a significant premium. The full-fairing Apache RR310s will have a 313cc, single-cylinder engine. It’s the same engine that powers the BMW G310R. However, specifications could see many differences due to a different state of tune. The motor will come mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Suspension duties will be taken care of by a set of upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. ABS is likely to be standard.
In terms of looks, the bike is almost a watered down version of the Akula concept. As the images here show, the front-end of the new Apache RR310s looks very sporty and dynamic. The bike has a very racy stance. The fairing is sleek and has twin LED headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). The bike gets a tall windsheild, which is very typical of many race-ready machines. Other highlights include the USD front forks and stylish alloy wheels. At the rear, the new Apache 310 gets a LED taillight and LED inidicators. The exhaust seems to be the same as the one which comes on the G310S. The bike gets a sticky pair of soft compound tires from Michelin. Dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) should be standard.
Other bits hinting at this bike’s high-performance credentials include adjustable clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, and split-seats. We really have no doubt, the TVS Apache RR310s has to be the meanest and the sleekest looking mass-production motorcycle from TVS ever. The Akula concept was seen boasting many really likeable bits like a matte black paint and race-spec exhaust. The upcoming RR310s won’t get the matte paint job but will still ofer the aluminium trellis sub-frame.
TVS Apache RR310S Launch Date
Launch Date | February, 2018 |
While the RR310s made its public debut as the Akula 310 concept back at the last Auto Expo 2016, its launch is likely to take place at the Auto Expo 2018. This means the new TVS motorcycle is still a few months away from its launch. We have already seen several spy images of the production-spec model. From the looks of it, the motorcycle is in the final stages of road tests.
TVS Apache RR310S Price in India
Non-ABS | Rs 1.72 Lakh |
ABS | Rs 1.90 Lakh |
The Apache RR310s will become the most expensive motorcycle from TVS. It is likely to go on sale at a starting price of Rs 1.72 lakh. The fully loaded model could cost even higher, at around Rs 1.90 lakh. With this, the new motorcycle will take the fight straight to the likes of KTM RC200. Of course, the new TVS bike will be much more powerful and sportier than the RTR200 4V.

A production-spec test unit of the 2018 TVS Apache RR310S was recently spotted by one of our readers. As you can see in the above spy images, the upcoming bike looks much like the Akula concept. That said, it does miss out on the special carbon-fibre body panels seen on the design study.
TVS Apache RR310S Specifications
Specs | TVS Apache RR 310S |
Engine | Single-cylinder, Fuel-Injected 313cc |
Maximum Power | 35 PS |
Peak Torque | 28 Nm |
Gearbox | 6-Speed Manual |
The new TVS Apache RR310s gets the same 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that can be found on the BWM G310R. This is the same engine that will also power the G310 GS adventure motorcycle. This modern engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 35 PS at 9,500 RPM and a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 RPM. The Apache RR310S will come with a 6-speed Manual Transmission that will send power to the rear wheels via a chain drive.
As with the case with all Apache models, the RR310S will be lighter than, say, its Bajaj Pulsar challenger. Yes, this bike will have to lock horns with the Dominar 400. While not a direct competitor, both will have largely similar power figures. As for the suspension, the RR310S gets upside-down telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear. It gets disc brakes on both the wheels and a dual-channel ABS is likely to be available at least as an option.
TVS Apache RR 310S Top Speed
Top Speed | 150 KMPH |
It is very likely that the new 2018 TVS Apache RR310S will have a true top speed of roughly 150 KMPH. This would be a pretty respectable figure for a bike of such specs and price. As shown in the images, the bike has a rather large windshield along with a full fairing. This will help the rider by protecting him from wind blasts at high speeds.
TVS Apache RR 310S Mileage
Highway | 32 KMPL |
City | 26 KMPL |
The RR310S will come with a modern engine that will be high on power. However, thanks to all the modern technology the motor will be able to deliver a mileage of at least 26 KMPL. It could even deliver upto 32 KMPL on the highway. We are pretty sure that this bike will offer a good mix of performance and mileage.

TVS Apache RR310S Design Review
As can be made out from the few images of the production-spec bike we have on this page, the new TVS Apache RR310S doesn’t have the carbon fibre body that the Akula concept did. However, the upcoming TVS Apache 310 model still looks a lot like the concept motorcycle. Akin to the Akula, it looks very racy and very attractive. It gets a full front fairing that is flanked by a twin headlamps setup, adjustable clip-on handlebar and the split seats. The RR 310S Apache will even have a set of daytime running lamps (DRLs).
The Apache RR310S gets a huge front-fairing, a huge windshield and a split headlamp setup. The headlamps hold HID projector setups, which further enhance the premiumness quotient of this bike. The LED DRLs further lend that touch of stylishness. This motorcycle gets a cast alloy swingarm to improve handling. At the same time, we’re hoping the suspension to offer decent ride quality over most surfaces. The USD forks come painted in golden, which further make the bike look sportier. The bike’s ‘devil’s horn’ taillamp catches attention at the rear. The LED taillamp, along with the LED indicators, give a very premium look to the bike. The end can for the TVS Apache RR310s comes from the BMW G310R. The raised clip-ons, along with the rear-set footpegs and split seats, make the bike more performance-focused. The bike will get sticky tyres from Michelin. Other highlights of the bike include split seats, a sculpted fuel tank, a digital speedo console and disc brakes at both the ends.
Some changes apart, the Apache 310cc will definitely possess the racy look of the Akula concept. As seen in the images, the upcoming TVS motorcycle looks sporty and very stylish. The RR310S will look every bit a grown up Apache RTR 180!
Stay tuned for latest news updates on the launch date and price of TVS Apache RR310S.
