TVS claims that the BS6 Apache RR 310 can do the 0-100 kph sprint in 7.17 seconds and has a top-speed of 163 kmph. Are these claims true? Well, watch the video to find out.
TVS launched the BS6 Apache RR 310 earlier this year and apart from the BS6 compliance, there were plenty of updates that TVS brought into the motorcycle. The BS4 Apache RR 310 was a really good motorcycle but it was plagued by refinement issues. The power delivery from the engine also could have been much better. With the BS6 update, not only did TVS fix all the problems of the BS4 bike, but also threw in a lot more tech and features. With the BS6 update, the Apache RR 310 truly realized its potential and it is now one of the best beginner’s sports bike in the country.
The TVS Apache RR 310 is powered by a 312.2 cc DOHC single-cylinder engine that produces 34hp at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and even gets a slipper clutch. TVS claims that the Apache RR 310 can sprint from 0-100 kph in 7.17 seconds and has a top-speed of 163 kmph. Well, while these manufacturer claims can mostly be believed, how about finding it out yourself? And that’s exactly what here in this video. This video has been uploaded by an YouTube channel called Strell and it tests the acceleration and top-speed of the Apache RR 310.
The rider tests the acceleration of the motorcycle in two rounds for surety. In the first attempt, the RR 310 can be seen sprinting 0-100 kph in 7.68 seconds while the 120 kph mark comes up in 11.30 seconds. In the second attempt, the rider does the 0-100 kph sprint in 7.46 seconds while the 120 kph mark comes up in 10.91 seconds this time. As it turns out, TVS’s claims of a 0-100 kph sprint time of 7.17 seconds wasn’t that far off from the real world performance after all. Although the rider did launch the motorcycle quite perfectly and the gear shifts were very well timed too, shaving off about 3/10s of a second is still quite possible to achieve the manufacturer claim.

Now on to the top-speed run. You can see in the video that the rider used an inclined stretch of tarmac to achieve the top-speed faster but eventually as the road flattens out, it has no effect on the top-speed. The Apache RR 310 can be seen clocking a speed of 163 kph on the speedometer and it seemed locked at that speed for quite some time. Although the rider was still pushing, the motorcycle was not gaining any more speed as it must have been electronically limited to that speed. Here in this car, TVS’s claim of a top-speed of 163 kph is absolutely correct.
