The 400-cc segment of motorcycles in India is heating up with the official announcement of the Triumph 400 bikes and the launch will take place on July 5th, 2023.
The Triumph 400 motorcycles will take on the Bajaj Dominar 400 in the Indian market soon. The launch is slated for July 5th, 2023 while the global release will occur later in the year. The announcement reveals almost all the details of the bikes including the powertrain, features, styling and more. Since the launch is just one week away, it makes sense to do a thorough comparison with its arch-rival, the Bajaj Dominar 400. Note that the prices will only be launched at the launch and we will update the price section of this post then. Also, the Triumph bikes are built as a result of the partnership with Bajaj at the latter’s manufacturing facility in Chakan, Maharashtra. For now, let us take a deep dive into what both these bikes offer.

Price Comparison and Verdict
The Bajaj Dominar 400 is priced at Rs 2.30 lakh, ex-showroom. As mentioned previously, the prices of the Triumph 400 models will be announced at the launch. But we must understand that the two variants of the Triumph 400 series are quite different despite part-sharing and being powered by the same engine. On one hand, the Speed 400 is geared more toward regular touring enthusiasts who are looking for comfort on long journeys. On the other hand, the Scrambler 400 represents a slightly adventurous side of this series. Now, we won’t call it an out-and-out off-roading bike, but there are a lot of subtle differences from the Speed 400 to make it a compelling proposition, at least for part-time off-roading owners. Essentially, if you are looking to go on occasional off-road excursions, you will be taken care of with the Scrambler 400.
