Toyota has revealed a new Limted Black Edition for the Yaris in our country and it will be offered with a new black paint shade, new chrome highlights and ambient lighting on the inside as well. The prices will be announced shortly.
Toyota has revealed a new Yaris Limited Black Edition for India. It will likely be based on the top-spec trims of the Yaris and will be available with both manual and automatic gearbox. The Toyota Yaris Limited Black Edition, as the name already suggest, gets an all-black treatment for the exterior with subtle highlights in chrome. This is first time that the Yaris is being offered in the black color and we must admit, it surely looks sporty.
Along with this new black shade, there are also some new contrasting chrome surrounds for the headlights and tail lights. We are not quite fans of these chrome surrounds as we believe that the Yaris would have looked a lot stealthier without them. We will also like to point out that Toyota offers the Yaris in dual-tone paint schemes as well with a blacked-out roof and that in our opinion, looks way more sporty.
On the inside, there has been an important upgrade in the form of ambient lighting strips on the door pads which surely elevates the feel of the interiors. Other than that, the Yaris is pretty much unchanged and it continues with features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, cruise control, keyless entry with push button start, a multi-info display and powered driver’s seat.

Safety features on the Toyota Yaris include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors as well as electronic stability control. The Toyota Yaris gets a sole petrol engine option in India. Its a 1.5L, naturally aspirated, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 107PS of power and 140Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-step CVT automatic gearbox.

The price for the Toyota Yaris Limited Black Edition will be announced very soon in the coming days. The top-spec Yaris is currently priced at Rs 14.34 lakh (ex-showroom) and prices for this limited edition variant could be marginally more. The only other sedan that’s currently offered in black is the Hyundai Verna. The Toyota Yaris continues to rival the likes of the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and the Hyundai Verna.
