Specs
As far as the engine specifications go, the Hyryder (and its Maruti counterpart) will come with 2 petrol-hybrid powertrains. The mild-hybrid version might be the same as the Brezza that could develop 105 PS, while the strong hybrid engine could churn out around 116 PS. The latter might also be capable of pure electric drive for short distances. There will be manual and automatic transmissions but no diesel engine. Interestingly, it will come with an AWD drivetrain that could make it a lot more desirable compared to its rivals. We expect the prices to be in the Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18 lakh, ex-showroom bracket. Other than rivaling top-sellers like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will pose an immediate threat to the likes of VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Hector.
