Toyota Taisor is the rebadged Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It is slated to launch in India on April 3, 2024. This will be yet another rebadged product under the Suzuki-Toyota alliance. We have already seen Baleno-Glanza, Brezza-Urban Cruiser, Grand Vitara-Hycross and Hyryder-Invicto as a part of this joint venture. Finally, the Fronx will also get its Toyota counterpart. As is the case with all these models, there are barely any aesthetic alterations apart from the company logos.

Toyota Taisor (Rebadged Fronx)
Toyota has announced the launch date of the Taisor officially. The exterior styling will largely be identical to the Fronx. This includes LED DRLs on the bonnet, LED headlamps on the bumper, a prominent grille with chrome belt and Toyota logo. There will also be a sporty skid plate to enhance its overall appeal. On the sides, the squared wheel arches will encompass new alloy wheels, the side body skirting will add to the sturdy nature and the overall silhouette will remind the onlookers of the Fronx. At the rear, the taillamp and bumper elements will bear slight alterations in comparison to the Fronx.

Interior and Features
On the inside, the similarities will be even more pronounced. The overall dashboard and cabin layout will resemble that of the Fronx but there could be differences in the colour theme for the cabin elements. But the features list will be similar to the Fronx. Some top highlights include a head-up display, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display with smartphone connectivity, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, textured dashboard layout, automatic climate control, a generous cabin and boot compartment and more.

Specs
We don’t believe there will be any changes to the powertrain options in comparison to the Fronx. The Maruti Fronx offers a choice between two engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The former produces 90 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque, while the latter provides a more robust performance with 100 PS of power and 147.6 Nm of torque. The less powerful engine is available with 5-speed manual and AMT transmission choices. Additionally, there’s a CNG variant delivering a peak output of 76 hp and 99 Nm of torque. For the turbo-petrol variant, both 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options are on offer. The Fronx ranges from Rs 7.51 lakh to Rs 13.04 lakh, ex-showroom. Hence, even the Taisor will be priced in this vicinity.
