As of now, the Toyota Raize will come in a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine with a CVT gearbox. We can expect a 6-speed manual transmission too in the near future
Toyota Raize, a sub compact SUV from the Japanese manufacturer will be seen at Tokyo Motor Show and in a piece of recent information, the brochure for the same has been leaked. It will be first launched in the global markets and then is likely to come to Indian shores.
The brochure of the Toyota Raize described some key elements of the new sub compact SUV. Just like the high end cars using trapezoidal grille up front, the Raize also follows a similar design scheme. Moreover, the LED headlamp design is wrapped around the grille.
At th front, the design is pretty simple and follows a minimalistic approach. It carries round fog light design and a pair of slim LED daytime running lights. Toyota badging can be seen at the centre.

The side profile sees larger 17-inch alloy wheels finished in dual tone colour scheme. And the blacked out treatment can be seen at the roof and on the outside rear view mirrors. The rear profile too gets dual tone bumper scheme and the changes will be minimal.
The interior details are not known but knowing the Toyota brand, it will carry a multi-function steering wheel and a driver focused centre console. We can expect the use of soft touch materials, a new and larger touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Toyota Raize sits on DNGA platform which is a cost effective version of the TNGA model. It is expected to be lighter and will weight under 1000 kgs. As of now, the compact SUV will get a 1.0-litre, three cylinder turbocharged petrol motor which will churn out 97 bhp on tap with a peak torque of 140 Nm.

As of now, the launch will take place in the global markets and if in case the SUV comes into the Indian market then it will compete against the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breza, Mahindra XUV500 and Ford Ecosport.
In other news, Toyota and Maruti Suzuki partnership says that Toyota will bring in the rebadged version of the popular Maruti cars. We have already seen the Maruti Baleno rebadged version by Toyota which goes by the name Glanza. Other cars that are on the list include Ciaz, Ertiga and the popular sub-4-metre compact SUV, Vitara Brezza.
