Here is a video of the features and equipment list of what you get in the base variant of the newly unveiled Toyota Innova Hycross. The Hycross is a more SUV-ish iteration of the exiting Innova Crysta MPV. That will be the prime distinction compared to the Crysta along with new powertrains, a premium cabin and new-age features. Both the Crysta and Hycross will be sold alongside one another. Hence, Toyota has targeted audiences for both of these products. Let us take a look at what the base trim offers.

Toyota Innova Hycross Base Variant – Exterior
On the outside, there are a lot of things highlighting the variant. This includes the unavailability of the LED DRLs and turn indicators on the bumpers, there will be a dual-LED headlight setup (compared to a tri-LED setup with a cornering function on the top trim), omission of the silver accent around the LED DRLs on the bumper, the grille will be normal, there will just be steel rims with wheel cap in contrast to alloy wheels on higher trims, there won’t be a chrome frame around the windows, the door handles won’t have chrome treatment but the rear chrome strip connecting the taillamps will be there.

Interior and Features
The differences on the inside are also major. The base model will not have any infotainment screen, there is an analogue instrument cluster with a 4-inch MID, there is no cruise control, the AC is manual, the door panels have plastics instead of leather, there is no memory function for seats and no height adjustment either, there will also be no Ottoman function for the second-row seats, there will be no sunroof, there will be manual IRVM, 2 airbags instead of 6 as on the top model, there will also be no Toyota Safety Sense System which is the brand’s ADAS, no 360-degree Camera, and a few other key features are given a miss.

Specs
The base variant of the Innova Hycross comes with just a 2.0-litre petrol engine without the hybrid system that makes 174 PS and 205 Nm of peak power and torque. The mid and higher trims will have the option of the 2.0-litre petrol hybrid engine that makes 186 PS and 206 Nm of peak power and torque. However, the claimed mileage of the hybrid powertrain is 21.1 km/l. The mileage of the regular petrol engine will be significantly less. The expected starting price will be around Rs 20 lakh for this base version.
