Toyota has been leading other manufacturers in the MPV and SUV market for quite some time. Thanks to its products like Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner. The company is also busy testing the facelifted models of the two, of which the 2012 Innova was recently spied in Bangalore.
The other, Fortuner has been introduced in other markets and its launch in India is expected soon. Both the products have proved to be a hit and customers do like them. They like them so much that eventually they wait for a long time before the car gets delivered.
This is certainly a concern for Toyota Kirloskar as this affects the sales. But now the manufacturer is actively working on plans to increase the production of these cars and eventually reduce the waiting periods for customers here.

The waiting periods for Fortuner and Innova are 6 months and 3-4 months respectively. With the commencement of new year, the brand will introduce new Fortuner and Innova variants and an 50 % production increase (6000 units) of Innova will also come along.
Since the Fortuner shares its assemble line with Innova a production boost is expected for it too. This very new move will reduce the waiting periods by drastic levels(nearly half). For both prospective buyers and Toyota, this new plan will be beneficial as for buyers waiting periods will be reduced while for Toyota monthly sales will increase.
