Toyota India has sold close to thrice as many cars in November 2011 as it sold in the months of November 2010. The total sales of November 2011 stood at 13956 cars compared to 5242 units in November 2010. The reason for this amazing sales number is the introduction of Toyota Etios sedan and Toyota Etios Liva hatchback in India which are high selling cars of Toyota in India now. Specially after the fuel efficient Diesel models of Etios and Liva were launched, the sales started to pick even better as Diesel in India is much cheaper than petrol. This makes small diesel cars quite popular with the car buyers even when they cost higher, but the running cost is lesser for diesel cars. The Etios and Etios Liva recorded a sale of 3,943 and 4,328 respectively along with the Innova clocking 4,308 units.

Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, TKM said, “We are very happy with the overwhelming response and confidence shown by our customers in the Etios and Etios Liva. The Etios series has sold a total of 8, 271 units in November. This growth can also be attributed to our efforts of educating more and more customers about the cost benefits of petrol cars by understanding their requirement and usage.”
