The first teaser of Toyota Glanza has been released, as the launch is scheduled for 6 June. In the photo, only the rear-side portion has been revealed.
Toyota has finally made something official about its upcoming hatchback. It has been named as Toyota Glanza and a teaser of the car has also been posted. This will be the first product from the Toyota-Suzuki partnership.
The teaser shows only the rear-side part of the hatchback, which looks fully identical to Maruti Baleno. Well, that’s what the Glanza is based on, as a deal between both the manufacturers to exchange their cars.
The alloy wheels and the rear styling are clearly from the Baleno. Just, the alloys get a Toyota badging. Once the full photo of the hatchback is out, we can talk about its differences.

Earlier reports suggest that Toyota Glanza will be available in only 2 variants – ‘G’ and ‘V’. The G variant will be the base and the V variant will be the top-spec variant.
Further, only a 1.2 Litre petrol engine will be offered onboard. The power figures are unknown as of now, but we expect around 85-90 BHP and 110-120 Nm of torque on offer.
The base-variant will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the top-spec will get a CVT gearbox. This indicates that Glanza will have a higher starting price than Maruti Baleno.

Reportedly, Toyota Glanza will be offered with a standard warranty of 3 years/1,00,000 kms. Baleno is offered with 2 years/40,000 kms warranty. In this segment, Jazz is the leader with 3 years/Unlimited Kms warranty.
After Toyota Glanza, the manufacturer will also launch rebadged versions of Ciaz, Vitara Brezza and Ertiga. However, the Toyota-badged Ciaz might be the end of the road for Yaris, which was just launched a year back.
