I am thrilled to share the details of this unique Toyota Glanza Rally Edition. Essentially, the aftermarket modifications on this premium hatchback are reminiscent of the Gazoo Racing (GR) division of Toyota. It makes some of the most exciting iterations of the regular Toyota cars. You can compare to something like the N division of Hyundai and the M division of BMW. But what’s more interesting is the fact that this is actually a Maruti Baleno since the Glanza is its badge-engineered version. Since this vehicle is in South Africa, it is called the Toyota Starlet there. Here are the details.

Toyota Glanza Rally Edition
This post comes from b.choww on Instagram. The host shares the information about this special hatchback. While the regular Glanza is a family car, this custom avatar is anything but family-friendly. The entire vehicle has been stripped down to make it a hardcore rally car. This means that there are no seats or other interior elements. There is just a place for the driver to sit, a fire extinguisher, a roll cage and lots of seat belts to hold the driver in place. In addition to the removal of the cabin components to reduce weight, the entire engine is replaced.

Specs
This Glanza has a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine which comprises a cast iron block with 5 main bearings and a forged steel fully counterweight crank. It generates a mind-numbing 259 hp. This makes it even more powerful than the 245 hp Skoda Octavia vRS. The mill comes from a Toyota Celica from 2000. To put all this power down, there is a sequential gearbox sending power to all four wheels. Apart from that, the dampers are new and the car features a wide-body kit. The brakes are also as per the performance of this hot-hatch. Finally, the stock exhaust makes way for a custom, centrally-mounted unit. However, there are no details about the cost of this conversion.

Author’s Note
We commend the meticulous and expert modifications made to this hatchback. They reflect the modifier’s profound understanding of internal combustion engines. Moreover, the use of high-quality components ensures that the enhanced performance doesn’t compromise reliability. Although I haven’t had the opportunity to test drive the vehicle, the specifications are certainly enticing. It’s essential to note that these modifications are not legally sanctioned in our country. But these are perfectly legal in some other countries around the world.
