The upcoming hatchback based on Baleno might be known as Toyota Glanza. Its production has reportedly commenced and will be launched in June 2019.
As we know, the first product from the Toyota-Maruti partnership will be a hatchback based on Baleno. Fresh reports suggest that it has already entered the production line and will be launched soon.
It is expected to reach dealership stockyards by the end of this month. Our dealership sources have confirmed that it will be launched in the first week of June. It will be named as Toyota Glanza.
Reports suggest that the hatchback will look similar to Maruti Baleno, but will get some distinctive styling bits. We are expecting some official information from Toyota very soon.

Toyota Glanza will be available in two variants – mid-spec ‘G’ and top-end ‘V’ variant. The mid-variant will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox, whereas the top-spec will come with CVT as standard fitments.
Only petrol engine will be offered onboard. Most likely, it will be a 1.2 Litre BS-6 compliant unit. The same engine comes on Baleno, which produces 83 BHP and 113 Nm of peak torque.
Reports further state that the Toyota Glanza will be produced at the manufacturer’s Bidadi plant in Karnataka. Earlier, it was planned to be produced at Suzuki’s Gujarat Plant, which now caters to the growing demand for Maruti vehicles.
We expect a distinctive front grille and minor revisions to the front and rear bumper on the upcoming hatchback. Other styling bits like alloy wheels, door handle design and more will definitely be different.

Features will be more premium than what we get on Baleno. Likewise, the prices of Glanza’s variants will be more than that of the Baleno. Our price expectations range between Rs 7 Lakhs to Rs 9 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
Following Toyota Glanza, the manufacturer will also launch rebadged versions of Vitara Brezza, Ciaz and Ertiga in the near future.
