Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition Prices Not Available Yet
Toyota is yet to reveal the official prices of the Fortuner Leader Edition. However, the prices for the Leader Edition will likely be a bit more than the regular Fortuner 4×2’s Rs 35.93 lakh-38.21 lakh price tag. Commenting on the launch, Sabari Manohar, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Their evolving preferences and desires for enhanced features and driving experiences motivate our relentless pursuit of excellence. The Fortuner Leader Edition is crafted to elevate its bold style statement with more add-on features while imparting an unparalleled sense of power and distinction. The Fortuner Leader Edition is a testament to Toyota’s resolute commitment to providing best-in-class offerings, leading the way with power and style.”
Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition gets distinct front and rear bumper spoilers, a dual-tone exterior paint job, and stylish black alloy wheels. Inside, dual-tone seats complement advanced additions like a wireless charger, TPMS, and auto-folding mirrors, amplifying convenience and style. Under the hood, the Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition features the tried-and-tested 2.8-liter diesel engine. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and an automatic transmission variant. The former outputs 201 bhp-420 Nm, while the latter offers 201 bhp-500 Nm. Thanks to the ever-lasting popularity of models like the Fortuner and Innova, combined with the rebadged Maruti Suzuki products gaining reasonable traction, Toyota has achieved a remarkable growth of 48% increase in FY2023-24. In all, it sold 2.65 vehicles in the last fiscal, which is a healthy growth from 1.77 lakh units sold in the previous fiscal.

What We Think
Toyota Fortuner is easily the undisputed leader in its class. The discontinuation of the Ford Endeavour, along with the lackluster response to the MG Gloster, has certainly helped the SUV establish an even firmer foothold. While the Legender and GR Sport serve as the top-of-the-line trims of this SUV, the new Leader Edition should attract with its competitive pricing and high value proposition. I certainly feel the advent of the new entry-level special trim will help the Fortuner lure even more SUV buyers.
