Worlds Cheapest Petrol Toyota Fortuner

It is amazing to see the price disparity in various parts of the world in terms of fuel

You will be surprised to know that you can fill the 80-litre fuel tank of a Toyota Fortuner for less than $2 (Rs 171). A kilo of some fruits costs more. This really puts things into perspective. We know that astronomical fuel prices are a huge issue in many parts of the world including India. In fact, since people look for alternatives, CNG technology has become immensely popular in the last few years. It is clear that the prices of petrol and diesel keep rising each year. Hence, it is becoming more and more difficult to afford a car for regular folks.

Cheapest Fuel in the World

Libya is a country where they have massive oil reserves. On top of that, the government offers heavy subsidies to make it even more attractive. As a consequence, with $1 (Rs 86), you can get approximately 40 litres worth of fuel. That is simply unbelievable. For reference, you need to shell out a whopping Rs 7000 to get 80 litres worth of diesel in India. This roughly translates to around $83. This is a direct consequence of large oil reserves but limited export opportunities due to a lack of political stability.

In some reports, it is stated that the situation in the country is unstable due to various issues. Hence, this might be a temporary occurrence. Still, to have such cheap fuel is bizarre and shocking. It is really fascinating to see the condition of different countries across the globe at one particular point in time. Obviously, this is not possible in any other country which doesn’t have its own oil reserves.

My View

I have been reporting about the low fuel prices in many countries which produce their own fuel from their in-country reserves. The fuel prices are always cheaper in these regions. However, most countries suffer from the constantly increasing fuel prices. Also, I must mention that the pollution being emitted from petrol and diesel cars is also the reason for the inception of EVs in the first place. However, it is clear that the EV age for the entire world is still some time away and we currently will have to make do with petrol and diesel for a while.
