The Etios twins were launched in hope that they will bring enormous sales from the passenger vehicle space to the company, but instead they are performing better in the commercial or taxi vehicle segment. Two days back, Toyota Kirloskar organized the first ever Toyota Etios Motor Racing series which received an overwhelming response.
More than for the sales of the Etios, the racing series is meant to change the image of the car and increase its popularity amongst motorsport enthusiasts. Now to take this already increased popularity to the next level, Toyota Kirloskar has launched a limited edition model of the Etios sedan.
Called the Toyota Etios TRD Sportivo, this limited edition car is an attempt to infuse a sporty image of the Etios brand into the market and it is seen as a sincere effort from the manufacturer. A few months ago, the company had launched the Liva TRD Sportivo edition was launched, and now it was time to unveil the sedan version. The Etios TRD Sportivo will be available in both petrol and diesel versions.
There are a number of changes made to the standard Etios to transform it into the sporty TRD Sportivo edition. The bumpers are changed with a sporty, aggressive styling. Everything, from the side skirts to the fenders looks unique and aerodynamic, thanks to the effort put in by TRD (Toyota Racing Development).
Apart from the bodily changes, the car features 15 inch alloy wheels with gun metal finish. The alloy wheels are quite similar to the ones seen on Liva TRD Sportivo edition. TRD decals are also present on the bottom section of the doors on both the sides. There is also a TRD Sportivo badge at the rear.
The exclusivity has been carried over to the interiors as well. The car offers exclusive seat fabrics with TRD Sportivo logo. Even the gear knob features silver finish.
Toyota Etios TRD Sportivo Limited Edition Price
The car is available in two colours: White and Symphony Silver. The petrol version of the car is priced at Rs. 6.25 lakhs and the diesel version is available for Rs. 7.31 lakhs, ex-showroom.
