Toyota Etios petrol sedan has got a wonderful 7000 bookings within just 7 days of launch. The bookings started after official launch of Toyota Etios on December 1st 2010 in India. The waiting period for car will be around 4 months. At present Toyota Etios is at one of the lowest price priced sedans in its segment and comes with high quality from Toyota. This is no surprise as the SUV Toyota Fortuner is also running under long waiting periods in India. The annual capacity of Toyota Bangalore plant is about 24000 car units, which is expected to go as high as 36000 by April 2011. This capacity increase is the much needed step to fulfill such high demands of Toyota cars across the segment. Also to keep the production smooth and prices under control, Toyota will increase the localization from present 70% to about 90% by securing more and more of its components from local vendors in India. Toyota Etios Diesel variant is also on the cars for December 2011 launch, which will probably increase the demands further for Toyota cars in India.
