Toyota has already announced that they have resumed normal production in their Indian plants and also the production is now normal. Toyota is working hard to minimize the waiting time on the delivery of Toyota Etios Sedan which is already booked in heavy numbers. Also Toyota announced that the Toyota Etios Liva will also be launched as per the original schedule in the month of June 2011. The date has been finally fixed to 27th June 2011, which is the last Monday of this month.
Toyota Etios Liva Hatchback will be priced competitively in the bracket of Rs. 4 Lakh to Rs. 5.5 Lakh. which will make it complete directly with the most popular small cars in India like Hyundai i10, Maruti Wagon R, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Ritz etc..
Etios Sedan has already been a hit in sales in Indian market and has been competing well with the Maruti Swift Dzire right from the day it was launched. The Liva hatchback is also expected to follow the trend because of proper pricing and high quality by Toyota. Toyota fans are usually go for Toyota brand name on its quality and refined technology which sells for a premium in the Indian market.
The Etios Liva Hatchback will features a 1.2 Litre MPFI Petrol Engine and will deliver a max power of about 80 BHP with a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox. The Etios hatchback will be very light in weight just like the Etios Sedan and will thus deliver a good performance as the power to weight ratio will be better than most cars in the segment. Also light weight means better mileage as the energy consumes is usually low per kilometer of journey, thus less petrol is guzzled.
