The base ‘G’ and ‘GD’ variants of Toyota Etios will soon get minor updates in the interior. It will get a new audio system and revised seat fabric colours.
A leaked document shows that base variants of Toyota Etios is going to get minor updates soon. The updates are focused only on the interiors of the sedan. ‘G’ variant is the entry-level variant of the car.
Toyota is going to update the G and GD variants with a basic audio system, which will offer CD, MP3, AM/FM, Aux, Bluetooth and USB options. The same system comes in the J variant of Toyota Yaris.
Further, the Toyota Etios will get fabric seats with a new colour. The colour stands unknown, but currently, it comes in Black and Ivory shade as standard across all variants.

Other than that, there will be no changes onboard. Mechanically, it will continue with 1.5 Litre petrol and 1.4 litre diesel options. The petrol engine delivers 90 BHP and 132 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The diesel engine is capable of delivering 68 BHP and 170 Nm of peak torque, again mated to a 5-speed gearbox. No Automatic transmission is available on option.
Features onboard include Steering with tilt function, cooled glove box, Power outlet, height adjustable driver seat, fully digital instrument cluster, steering mounted audio controls, Electric ORVMs and Rear Bench seat fold.

Safety features onboard include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Immobiliser, Keyless Entry, headlamp on warning and rear defogger as standard fitments. The top-end variants get reverse parking sensors and front fog lamps.
Toyota Etios will soon get a major update, probably a new-generation altogether. The sedan will get premium features and a revised styling to fit in properly in its competition.
For the past few months, the sedan has been giving a low performance. Despite bringing a facelift in 2018, the sales did not increase significantly. For the month of January 2019, it sold 1520 units of Etios, which is mostly used by fleet-operators.
