It is fascinating to witness what aftermarket car modification houses have been able to achieve in the last few years
In this post, I am showcasing a Toyota Corolla Altis being converted into a Lexus using a body kit. Corolla was one of the most popular cars from Toyota a few years ago. It was a status symbol for many in the last decade. However, due to the rise in competition and low sales, it is no longer on sale. Still, since these have Toyota engines, people still use them even today. We know that Toyota makes some of the most reliable powertrains in the world. Hence, people look for ways to upgrade their cars without buying a new one. That is where conversions come into the picture.
Toyota Corolla Altis Converted to Lexus
The specifics of this case stem from Autorounders on YouTube. The host explains that they received this Corolla and the owner granted them permission to go all out to make something truly unique. As a consequence, they imported the Lexus kit and made the necessary adjustments to the body to install it. Firstly, they ripped off the Corolla Altis for full-body paint. Once that was complete, they added all the parts of the body kit to transform it beyond recognition.
Hence, we get to witness the trademark spindle grille with chrome surrounds with a new bumper. To ensure that everything seems in sync, they replaced the old headlamps with new projector LED headlamps with LED DRLs. On the sides, the alloy wheels have been inspired by Mercedes cars, while the tail section also contains new body panels. On the inside, the car house has fitted custom seats for the utmost comfort of the passengers along with updating the entire cabin including the dashboard and side body panels. All in all, there is barely any sign on the outside which can lead you to know the donor model.
My View
I must admit the kind of professional work done on this car is unbelievable. Having said that, we have gotten used to this car house performing all sorts of conversions with finesse. However, I must urge our readers to first consult your local RTO before going for such hardcore customizations since most car modifications are illegal in India. To ensure that you don’t get in trouble with the traffic cops later on, you should know the rules and regulations. In any case, I shall keep bringing more such cases for our readers in times to come.
