Toyota is considering introducing new CNG cars in the near future and for that, it will borrow the technology from Maruti Suzuki.
Maruti Suzuki is the leading manufacturer when its comes to CNG cars, with its wide range of choices. Also, the manufacturer’s decision to convert all of its small cars to CNG will certainly boost up the sales.
Looks like its new compadre, Toyota, is also planning to use the same strategy. Although it already has CNG cars in Japan, it plans to introduce the same in India as well. However, it will use the technology from Maruti Suzuki to keep the costs in control.
Toyota is considering the CNG technology with Maruti Suzuki because both of them can share the production costs. The former then can establish its play in the CNG market, which still has very few cars available.

We are not sure what Toyota cars could come with CNG in the near future. Maruti is planning to bring CNG on Swift and Dzire soon, while WagonR, Ertiga and a couple of other cars are already equipped with. Although, reports also suggest that Vitara Brezza could get CNG as an option.
Toyota has cleared the air about electric vehicles in India. The company will focus on hybrid cars till the time India is completely ready for EVs. It already has Camry hybrid and it is speculated that the new Corolla Altis might also get mild-hybrid powertrain.
It has already introduced its plans for EVs in India, with the first one based on Electric Maruti WagonR. Globally, Toyota is quite advanced in the electric vehicle market but if they are bought in India, the prices would not stay in control.

For the BS-6 norms, Toyota is planning to continue with all of its petrol and diesel engines. As said earlier, its not just the Corolla Altis, but a lot of other Toyota cars might get mild-hybrid powertrains
