At the 2016 Auto Expo, Pune-based Tonk Motors showcased their electric bike. Three years down the line, it has been spotted testing for the first time in India.
Tork T6X was showcased at a premium motorcycle with upscale styling bits. Tork Motors promised great performance coupled up with a sporty design, which has around 1,000 bookings in total.
The spotted test mule was under heavy camouflage. It is built on in-house designed Trellis frame, which also comes under KTM Duke bikes. The electric motor is placed just below the seat for a proper centralization.

The swingarm suspension covers the electric motor, mainly due to a comparatively smaller Trellis frame. For supplying power, Tork T6X uses a chain-drive with a large sprocket. This results in a better overall torque generation.
Tork T6X uses a 6kW electric motor that produces around 8 BHP and 27 Nm of peak torque. As per company’s claims, the electric bike offers a range of 100 kms on full charge. The bike can easily cruise at 100 km/hr.
The E-bike will take around 1 hour to charge up to 80%. The power and battery figures seem quite nice.
For suspension purposes, Tork T6X uses conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock absorber at the back.

The test mule gets front and rear disc brake, which might pair up with CBS. Electric vehicles of 11 kW and above should be equipped with ABS.
Other highlights include a high-set handlebar, halogen headlamps and rear-set footpegs. It also gets a 4.5-inch TFT screen that is connected by bluetooth, for displaying rider and bike information. Also, it will boast of different riding modes and alloy wheels.
As of now, there is no word of the launch of the motorcycle. Premanand Risbud, CFO of Tork Motors, has stated that they are working towards its development. The bike has to undergo various safety and quality checks before it can come into production.
