Now that you know which budget petrol cars give the best mileage, here’s a list of 5 petrol cars that give the lowest mileage figures.
With petrol cars you get a more refined drive whereas with diesel, you get better mileage. Petrol cars are comparatively cheaper to maintain than diesel cars. There are a lot of positive and negative points on both the sides and the list can go on.
A typical Indian buyer who is buying a budget car has to think about the mileage. With diesel cars it is a different thing but with more than 50% of Indian buyers still preferring petrol cars, maintaining high fuel efficiency is very important.
Here is a list of 5 petrol cars that are priced under Rs 10 Lakhs and offer the lowest mileage figures. However, one side negative has another side positive. That means these cars are more fun to drive than others. We have driven all the cars mentioned in the list and the mileage figures mentioned include claimed as well as what we achieved in real-world driving conditions.
So, here’s the list of least fuel-efficient cars that we have in the budget space:
Maruti WagonR 1.2 Litre
The new generation WagonR got the bigger 1.2 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine, in addition to its humble 1.0 Litre three-cylinder. The bigger engine produces 83 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque. This makes WagonR the peppiest car in its class. However, with this, it loses out on mileage. If you want to focus on mileage and not power, we would suggest you to go with the 1.0 Litre engine.
