As we approach 2024, the Indian automotive landscape is set for an exciting array of new car launches. Most of these upcoming cars in India fall into SUV category but we even have an important hatchback as well as a compact sedan headed our way. The evolving trends in design, technology, fuel efficiency, and performance showcase the industry’s commitment to meeting the diverse needs of buyers. These new car launches 2024 reflect the dynamic changes and advancements in the automotive sector. The end result of all this is that the biggest beneficiary turns out to be consumer.
Kia Sonet Facelift
Let me start with what could be the first of these launches next year. The Kia Sonet Facelift features a more modern styling package and will have more features. It could even get some trim additions. The new bits should help enhance the overall package. As someone who has driven the Sonet many times, I regard it as a rather stylish sub-compact SUV that has an upmarket interior and is even quite fun to drive. The introduction of the facelift should make the car even more stylish, while new features will make the cabin more upmarket. A highlight of the new equipment list will be the ADAS, which will surely enhance the safety quotient. We don’t expect any change in terms of specifications.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift
Another sub-compact SUV that is close to getting a facelift is the Mahindra XUV300. From the looks of it, the launch of the facelift will take place in early 2024. The exterior updates, as seen in the recent spy images, look promising. However, it’s the interior transformation that I’m actually looking forward to/ The prospect of a larger touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, and a revamped digital instrument cluster makes the XUV300 facelift an exciting proposition. Even the powertrains will be upgraded to comply with the stricter BS6.2 emission norms. Meanwhile, the SUV will continue to be offered with turbocharged petrol and diesel motors. That said, the AMT will give way to a new Aisin-sourced torque converter unit for the automatic transmission.

Hyundai Creta Facelift
This could be one of the most important upcoming car launches of 2024. The mid-life facelift for the second-generation Creta will help it thwart the higher heat from rivals like the new Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. The compact SUV looks ready to receive a rather comprehensive update. The current Creta is already a favorite of many and the new exterior styling pack, more upmarket interior and the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol option should make it a compelling buy. The infusion of Hyundai Palisade-like styling elements will surely add a touch of sophistication to the aesthetics. Moreover, the advent of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) will be a noteworthy move towards enhancing safety quotient. Plus, the additional features will make the Creta one of the most feature-laden offerings int he priced bracket.

New Maruti Swift
I’m eagerly anticipating the arrival of the 4th generation Maruti Swift hatchback in India next year. Having made its global debut in concept format at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, it’s exciting to see spy pics from its recent sighting in India. As one of the top-selling models in its segment, the new Swift is expected to garner even more attention with additional features. A huge upgrade will come in the form of a new 1.2-liter strong hybrid, 3-cylinder petrol engine that promises upto 35 kmpl! Even the interior will likely offer more space and will be made up of better materials. Plus, Maruti could offer more standard airbags to increase the safety on offer.

New Maruti Dzire
As the new Maruti Dzire is coming our way, it’s only obvious there would even be an all-new Dzire in the pipeline. Like the new-gen Swift, the new Dzire will benefit from a new powertrain, more features and even more safety. However, the current-get Swift could continue to be on sale, at least in the taxi market, as it enjoys a huge demand.

Author’s Note
While 2023 saw some important car launches, such as that of the Kia Seltos facelift and Maruti Jimny, 2024 could be more action-packed. All the models listed above look all set to make an impact in their respective markets. Of these, the Hyundai Creta facelift, new Maruti Swift and new Dzire could have a strong potential to become bestsellers. What all this means is that we have some exciting times ahead of us and the biggest beneficiary of this is the Indian car buyer. With at least 5 really important car launches lined up in coming months, there’s a lot to look forward to. Stay tuned as we bring more news updates on these upcoming cars in India.
