This is the latest entrant in this list and Mahindra’s third safest car out there. The lifestyle SUV and the safest off-roader has scored 4 star rating for child occupants and even adult occupants. On all the variants, you only get dual front airbags as standard.
Tata Tigor/Tiago
Tiago is the safest hatchback that you can buy under a budget of Rs 6 Lakhs. In its segment, many cars have scored 0 or 1 star rating and even come with just a driver side airbag as standard. It gets 4 star rating for adult occupants and 3 star for child occupants.
Volkswagen Polo
Volkswagen Polo being one of the safest hatchbacks is quite important and makes up for its brand value. It was tested many years ago with dual airbags as it managed to score 4 star rating for adult occupant and 3 star for child occupants. Even the non airbag variants scored 3 star rating for child occupants.
Mahindra Marazzo
Mahindra Marazzo securing a 4-star rating is amazing because of its structure as an MPV. With dual airbags as standard fitment, it gets 4 star rating for adult occupants and 2 star rating for child occupants. The latter is where it feels something amiss.
Maruti Vitara Brezza
While Etios has scored marks than Vitara Brezza, it is sadly not sold anymore. Brezza is the safest SUV from the stable of Maruti Suzuki, defying all the bad impression created by its younger siblings. Brezza scores 4 star safety rating, with 2 stars for child occupants.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the second safest car from the Gurgaon based manufacturer, scoring 3 stars. It gets 3 stars each for adult and child safety, which technically makes it the safest MPV for kids.
Ford Aspire/Figo
The last and tenth safest car in India is Ford Aspire and Figo, both technically having the same body and platform. Aspire scores a satisfying 3 star safety rating, where 3 stars are for adult safety and 2 stars for child safety. However, its top end variant gets six airbags which will increase the safety more.
