Here’s an example of a modified 10-year-old Skoda Laura vRS which gets many performance upgrades and is more powerful than the new Octavia RS 245.
Skoda and its vRS cars are known all over their world. They offer more power, are fun to drive and get all the racing tuning done officially. In India, now we have the new Skoda Octavia RS 245 which is the latest one. However, due to it being fully imported, only 200 units were allocated. The RS 245 is already sold out in just 2 months.
Skoda started the vRS launches in India with this car. Skoda Laura was a more premium alternative to the Octavia, based on the latter itself. In 2011, the Laura vRS was launched which came with a 1.8 litre turbo petrol engine. At that time, the engine produced 150 BHP! It was sold in very few numbers at that time.

Here’s a modified Skoda Laura vRS that gets the same 1.8 TSI engine but produces 375 BHP now! That’s literally a rise of 215 BHP. For performance, it gets Stage 3 eTuners MotorSport ECU tuning, Milltek Sport Exhaust System, K04 Turbo upgrade, R8 Coil Pack, NGK Spark Plugs and Forge MotorSport Intercooler.
That’s not it. Other upgrades also include Stage 3 APR Carbonio Intake Kit, GoFastBits Diverter Valve, 2.0 Litre TSI injector, Stage 3 Spec Clutch Upgrade and Turbo Muffler. All these high tech performance upgrades must have cost easily a couple of Lakhs to the owner. All these upgrades are done locally and there’s no importing done.
This Laura vRS gets Bilstein B16 suspension upgrade which has lowered the car’s height. Further, it gets 18-inch TSW rims wrapped in 235/40/18 Pirelli P Zero Rubber. Other than that, it does not get any other cosmetic tweak. The owner has maintained the styling and design of the car in original stock condition.
