Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the new Jimny in India by next year, to replace the blank space left by the legendary Gypsy.
The list of modified Maruti Jimny never gets over. People have done all types of modifications to the little off-roader. Here’s one such which just gets a simple but very practical tweak done. Actually, very relevant to its purpose.
This modified Maruti Suzuki Jimny gets a camping tent installed on the roof. So you go off-roading in your Jimny and deep inside the woods, to enjoy nature, you can easily open up this tent and sleep inside.
The tent comes inside a package which is installed on the roof. When you want to use it, you can just pull it out or probably use a button to assemble it. Inside the tent, there’s a soft cushion and a make-shift ladder to get on it.

However, these camping tents need to chosen very carefully for your car. Every car has a different roof load. Some cars can only take a roof load of 75 kgs, some up to 200 kgs. Accordingly, you buy a one, two or a three-person tent. In this case, the above Jimny gets a two-person tent.
These tents are not that popular in India because of a lot of rules and regulations. However, in foreign countries, almost every family with an SUV has this tent. If the person has a camper then its a completely different scenario.
Maruti is going to launch the Jimny in India by early 2021. It was recently showcased on the fourth day of 2020 Auto Expo. However, unlike the 3-door version available globally, we will be getting a 5-door version. This will be more practical for Indian buyers.

Jimny will get a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed MT and 4-speed AT. Further, it would not be getting any high-end technology that we see in the global-spec Jimny. The prices are expected to fall in the 8-10 Lakhs bracket.
