This owner of a Skoda Rapid has shared the troubles that he has faced in just repairing his battery at a dealership in Mumbai.
BS6 Skoda Rapid is the cheapest executive sedan in India right now, starting off at just Rs 7.49 Lakhs. Despite being sold at a very affordable price, many users feel that Skoda recovers this price cut by fleecing customers at dealerships. Here’s one such example where the owner of a Skoda Rapid Automatic complained about a battery issue and instead got a bill of Rs 3 Lakh. (No Kidding)!
The owner of this Skoda Rapid based out of Mumbai tried starting his car after lockdown but failed to do so. After confirming it to just be a battery replacement issue, he got in touch with his nearest service centre, Skoda Autobahn. After days of begging, they finally got to pick up his Rapid towards the end of June this year.

After doing the first checkup of the car, it was confirmed by the service manager that there is no wiring problem and just the battery issue. The total cost came out to Rs 25,800 which also included a proper servicing. Again after a couple of days, the owner got a call saying that the brake pads have worn out and AC is not cooling.
After checking up first time, they got the problems in second time. Both these issues took the bill up to Rs 34,800 seeing a 35% increase. He was promised that the car would be delivered in two days, however, even that did not happen. Instead, on the day of delivery, he got a call from the dealership saying that the multi clutch is damaged. The car was starting but not moving.
After the clutch issue, the total repairing bill was now showing RS 95,000 which is a 172% increase. Seeing the fleecing of the current service manager, he requested Skoda to assign him a new dealership. After getting a new one, the owner did not even think that he would get an even bigger bill.
The new service manager just confirmed about the multi-clutch saying that it will cost Rs 60,000. Then, he also added that the mechatronic of the car is faulty and needs to be replaced. A mechatronic going bad is a huge deal and should not happen in just 5 years. This problem cost him Rs 2 Lakh, taking the total bill up to Rs 2.95 Lakhs!
