Maruti Suzuki is the largest producer of factory-fitted CNG cars in India. Maruti Suzuki’s rivals in the CNG segment are Hyundai and Tata Motors, which have focused on CNG vehicles in recent years. To further expand the CNG portfolio and spice up the competition, the brand came up with the Maruti Brezza S-CNG at a starting price of Rs 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom, India) earlier this year. We feel the new version makes immense sense for all those who need a mile-muncher with low running costs, practical cabin, good reliability and a decent cabin with enough features. In fact, the Brezza CNG became the first CNG model in the segment to offer an electric sunroof, cruise control, keyless push start and other such features. Allow us to take you through the 5 major highlights of this sub-compact SUV –

Maruti Brezza S-CNG Price List
Variants | Prices (ex-showroom) |
---|---|
LXi S-CNG | 9.24 Lakh |
VXi S-CNG | 10.64 Lakh |
ZXi S-CNG | 12.00Lakh |
ZXi Dual-Tone S-CNG | 12.16 Lakh |
One of the best things I like about the Brezza CNG that it’s available in a range of variants. These include – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi Dual Tone. It is priced between Rs 9.24 lakh and Rs 12.16 lakh (ex-showroom). In fact, one things that probably not everyone will tell you about is that the prices have gone up by Rs 10,000 since launch. However, this in accordance with the general market trend, where all cars seem to be getting costlier. But what the diverse range of variants means is that you can buy as per your exact needs and budget. This, in turn, makes the Brezza a pretty practical buy.

Specifications
New Maruti Brezza S-CNG gets the same K15C Smart Hybrid 1.5-litre dual-fuel petrol-CNG motor that is also offered with the Ertiga and XL6 CNG. This engine generates 100 PS of power and 136 Nm of peak torque when running in the petrol mode. In CNG mode, the engine produces 87.8 PS at 5,500rpm and 121.5Nm at 4200rpm. While this doesn’t translate to a scintillating performance, there’s adequate grunt on offer. We remember reviewing the Ertiga CNG with the same powertrain. The tuning of the motor is such that the car feels sprightly enough in city and has adequate juice to cruise at 100 kmph on the expressways. Safely expect a similar performance from the Brezza.
Brezza CNG Mileage
The claimed ARAI certified fuel economy for this version of the Brezza stands at 25.51km/kg. This is a pretty respectable figure, and easily among the best in the business. Plus, with CNG costing less than petrol, the overall running costs remain remarkably low. So, thanks to the CNG option, the Brezza becomes a practical choice for all those who have a high running and need to save money on fuel. What this also means is that potential buyers which avoided this sub-compact SUV after the discontinuation of the diesel version can have a re-look at the vehicle.

Clever Pacaking
One of the biggest issues people face with CNG cars is the lack of boot space. This is due to the storage tank eating up most of the cargo area. However, this problem is resolved to an extent with the recent batch of S-CNG cars from Maruti Suzuki. The clever packaging ensures that there’s still usable boot space left after the installation of the CNG cylinder. Plus, the factory fitment ensures quality installation.
Maruti Brezza S-CNG Features
As mentioned above, the CNG option is available in multiple trims, ranging from LXI to ZXI. This ensures that even if you buy the CNG version, you get enough features on the higher versions. Some of the key highlights include ARKAMYS premium sound system with surround sense, 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with OTA updates, electric sunroof, cruise control, Type A and C USB charging at the rear, wireless charging at the front and cooled glove box Are. The Brezza CNG is the 14th factory-fitted CNG product from Maruti Suzuki to be introduced. In fact, all Maruti Suzuki Arena cars are now available with CNG fuel option.
