The new generation Kia Carnival will be available in a 4-seater option as well, which will then be the top-spec variant.
Kia launched the Carnival luxury people mover at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. It is the manufacturer’s second car in India and another one to draw decent attraction towards it. The prices start at Rs 24.95 Lakhs up to Rs 33.95 Lakhs (ex-showroom), going against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Honda CRV and Mahindra Alturas G4.
While we in India got the Carnival for the first time, in the global market, it is already towards a new generation update. In many markets, Kia will launch the new gen Carnival this year itself, towards the end of 2020. Fresh media reports suggest a major change to the seating configuration that is something unheard of.
The four-seater Kia Carnival will attract buyers from higher executive positions who are constantly on the go and need some relaxation. It will be the top-spec trim with ultra-luxurious cabin and many more features. This option is definitely to pass out as a chauffeur car with the owner using it mostly for office work.

Since now, it will be a 4-seater, the new-gen Carnival will get many features for the second-row passengers. There can be multiple levels of reclining, massage system, different levels of support function, individual food tray and cup-holders and much more. The four-seater trim will most likely get these additional features only and nothing else.
The current Carnival comes with features such as dual-pane electric sunroof, VIP Seats with 10.1” Dual Touchscreen Rear Seat Entertainment System, electric operated one-touch sliding door, UVO connect, LED projector headlamps, triple-zone climate control, Smart Cruise control, front and rear parking sensors and much more.
Kia Carnival gets a 2.2 Litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine that produces 200 PS and 440 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed torque converter AT as standard. It comes in three seating options including a 7-seater, 8-seater and 9-seater.

While the global launch is scheduled for the second half of 2020, we are at least a year and a half away from getting it. Kia has plans to launch the Sonet sub-4-metre SUV in the second half of this year. It is also developing a new and more affordable MPV for the 10-15 Lakhs segment.
