New 2nd Generation of Honda Amaze is set to roll out on the Indian roads. The bookings will start from 6th April at an amount of Rs 21000 and the deliveries will be beginning from May.
The new Honda Amaze was unveiled globally at the Auto Expo 2018. The car will likely continue to have the 1.2 Litre and 1.5 Litre variants. The petrol engine will produce 88bhp and 109Nm of torque, while the diesel engine will give 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. Amaze’s petrol variant will come with a five-speed manual gearbox with optional CVT and for the first time, diesel will get an optional CVT gearbox. This makes 2018 Amaze as the first car in its segment to have a CVT gearbox with a diesel engine.
New Honda Amaze – Price
The new model might be starting from Rs 6 Lakh which will cost a small premium over the outgoing model’s price tag. The current price stands at Rs 5.58-8.43 lakh for the petrol models and Rs 6.75-8.50 lakh for the diesel models. The top-spec CVT-diesel is expected to cost more than Rs 1 lakh over the current range-topping diesel variant, based on the differences between the petrol-manual and petrol-CVT options.

Honda Amaze also gets a new design with a slightly raised bonnet and the grille design, with its chrome garnish. Overall it makes a great balance to the design, somewhat matching up to the likes of Honda City. The rear of the car gets a small spoiler on the boot lid connecting the C-shaped tail lights.
New Honda Amaze – Interiors
In the interior, it gets features like LED DRLs, infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and paddle shifters on the automatic variants among others. In addition to ABS with EBD and dual airbags, the top-end variant also gets automatic climate control system, Honda Connect, a 24×7 telematics service with 20 functions.

New Honda Amaze – Mileage
Honda Amaze was the first diesel car from Honda and it was a very big player in the compact sedan segment. It emerged as a strong competition for Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor and Hyundai Xcent. Interestingly, it is one of the most fuel-efficient car in its segment. The current Amaze, the petrol and diesel versions offer mileage figures of 18.1 kmpl and 25.8 kmpl respectively.

The new Amaze is going to compete with the likes of Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor and the Volkswagen Ameo.
