Mahindra has decided to auction the first Thar for helping in the battle of COVID-19. Till now, the highest bidding amount for it has reached 73.25 Lakhs!
Mahindra, with its noble cause, has decided to auction the first new Thar in order to raise funds for battling COVID-19. It will be the Number 1 Thar, bearing the serial number 1. Money collected from the auction will be further donated to PM Cares Fund, Swadeshi Foundation and Naandi Foundation. Seeing the soaring popularity of new Thar, we are sure that a good amount of donation will be collected.
Till now, the highest bidding done for the #1 Mahindra Thar has reached 73.25 Lakhs! While we are expecting the actual prices to stay under Rs 15 Lakhs, the bidding has reached nearly its 5 times. There’s another guy that can be seen making a bid for Rs 73.5 Lakhs. The last bid has been done from Palakkad, Kerala. To commemorate, the #1 Thar will come with special inscriptions and embellishments to differentiate it.

There will be a customizable badge on the vehicle with your initials and no.1 on the decorative vin plate of the dashboard. Then there will be leatherette seats specially made for this version. Also, you can choose any variant and any colour. All these things will be done on priority basis for the bidder and he will be the first person in India to get the new Thar. The auction is live from 24th September to 29th September.
Meanwhile, the pre-bookings for the new Thar have already commenced across the country. The prices will be announced on 2nd October, following which, the official bookings will also commence. It will come in two trims – LX and AX, both available with a petrol and diesel engine. The AX and AX (O) variants will be basic, loaded with features all required for the off-roading purpose. LX variants will come with some lifestyle and convenience features additionally.
Under the hood, you have new 2.2 Litre mHawk diesel and 2.0 Litre petrol engines. Both of them offer 320 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT.
