The deliveries of the Tesla Cybertruck have been delayed as cases of unintentional acceleration due to a faulty accelerator pedal emerge. Tesla is the latest EV maker on the planet. However, it has been having a tough time with its shares dropping to a 52-week low. It is struggling to keep the title of the largest EV company in the world. In fact, in the last quarter of 2023, it lost that spot to BYD. Thankfully for Elon Musk, it regained the pole position at the end of the first quarter of 2024. Still, it had to work strategically and precisely to come back to the top. But this new issue might bring with it some more challenging times ahead.

Tesla Cybertruck Deliveries Delayed Due to Faulty Acceleration
Many reports are floating around on the internet suggesting that there is some problem with the accelerator pedal of the Cybertruck. Digging a bit deeper, it was found out that the issue is actually with the aluminium cover on the accelerator pedal which slip-wedges itself between the pedal and the plastic bulkhead. As a result, the accelerator pedal is pressed flat to the floor automatically. The only way to override this is by pressing the brake. However, once the brake is released, the vehicle begins to accelerate fully again. Hence, it has to be switched off after the halt for safety.
That is an issue which a lot of people have reported in the last few weeks on public forums. Tesla has not issued any official announcement about this incident. However, the potential owners of the Cybertruck have been informed that the deliveries of their electric pickup trucks have been delayed. It is possible that the company might be working behind the scenes to fix this issue. We can only know for sure once the carmaker addresses this issue.

Author’s Note
Elon Musk had earlier stated that it would have to fire 10% of its global workforce to create a lean and innovative atmosphere in its business operations to fuel future growth. All these factors have combined to take Tesla stocks to their lowest value since April 2023. The EV giant is evidently grappling with too many issues at the moment. Hence, Elon Musk and Co. need to devise a strategy to ensure high sales this year despite the industry bracing for a slowdown in the USA and China. Perhaps the news of Tesla entering India could stir things up and jump-start the EV maker’s growth. In any case, we shall keep an eye out for more details in this regard.
