Its technological superiority over others makes it the leader in the EV market. Part of that technology is Autopilot. It is the semi-autonomous driving feature that Tesla cars come with. With have seen in the past that it has not quite worked as needed at times, but this is what it looks like when it does its job well.

Tesla Autopilot Saves Owner from Air-Borne Kia
The video has been uploaded by Prateek Singh on YouTube. This channel keeps posting content around the performances of popular cars during unfortunate scenarios and road safety. This time around, there is a Tesla car that is almost involved in a horrific crash. As per the information in the video, this incident has been reported from the USA. The recording has been captured by the dashcam footage installed on the Tesla.

There are vehicles on the freeway as usual. One sees a pickup truck and a Kia hatchback driven in adjacent lanes. Suddenly, the tyre from the front side of the pickup truck comes off and comes in front of the Kia. Because it was so sudden, there was nothing the driver could’ve done about it. However, the speed was high since the cars were on the freeway. As a result, the hatchback gets thrown up several feet in the air and lands some distance away. The airbags got deployed saving the passengers from grave injuries.

More importantly, the Tesla Autopilot recognized this and steered the vehicle away from the free-moving tyre on the road. The life of the Tesla owner was saved due to this lightning-quick maneuver of the technology on Tesla. It senses the obstacles using sensors, cameras and radars to take appropriate measures to avoid collisions. That is precisely what happens here. This is an example of how technology can boost safety if not misused.
