This is a rare Tesla that runs on diesel and is capable of a range of 1000 mi or 1600 km. Yes, you read that right! We know how innovative auto enthusiasts could get. This is a prime example of that. Tesla is the biggest electric carmaker in the world. Its EVs represent the future of mobility. In fact, we have to credit Tesla for bringing this mobility revolution to the world this quickly. It is no more a distant reality as almost all major carmakers have announced ambitious plans to go carbon-neutral in the coming decade. This Tesla Runs on Diesel
The video has been uploaded by Warped Perception on YouTube. This channel features all sorts of experiments with automobiles. On this occasion, the YouTuber decides to slap on a diesel engine at the back of the Tesla to cover the breadth of the USA without having to stop for charging. The way he is designing this setup is by using the diesel engine as a generator to produce power for the EV battery. In this way, he just needs to fill the diesel tank and the battery will be powered by it. Hence, there is no need to stop at the charging stations for hours.

He makes a place at the rear of the car for the Kohler engine. All the associated components of a diesel engine are installed with it. He then creates a covering for the engine to contain the sound and protect it from the heat. Remember, the temperatures inside IC engines can be extremely high. Hence, he makes sure to keep an eye on the engine not getting too hot. He briefly halts to refill diesel a couple of times. But he is able to squeeze a range of over 1,000 miles (over 1,600 km) from this Tesla.

We are thoroughly impressed by the ingenuity and creativity of this entire configuration. However, we must warn our readers to never try anything like this. This is strictly made for educational / entertainment purposes. This is an experimental project by the YouTuber to test his skills and knowledge about vehicles. You must not blindly imitate him. Also, there is little sense in making an eco-friendly car run on carbon-emitting diesel fuel. That defeats the entire purpose of electric cars. The pollution is doubled – first in the manufacturing of EVs and its battery; second by the use of diesel. But as far as creativity goes, this is an exceptional configuration.
