Tata Motors, the popular Indian passenger and commercial vehicles manufacturer, has teased as many as five new models ahead of their debut at the Auto Expo 2018. One of the upcoming Tata cars at the Auto Expo 2018 is design study on the X451 hatchback. So, basically, the concept will preview the company’s upcoming Maruti Baleno rival. The Tata X451 hatchback will launch in 2019 and will be slotted between the Tigor compact sedan and the Nexon compact SUV in the company’s product portfolio.

The Tata X451 hatchback will feature the company’s new IMPACT 2.0 design language, which is basically an evolved version of the current IMPACT design theme. While the teaser image seen above doesn’t reveal much about the X451 hatchback, a little part of the front-end that is visible in the picture gives us a hint of the car’s sleek design. The front-end will feature a pair of sharply-styled headlights and the bumper gets some bold creases, especially towards the corners. The rather steeply raking windscreen, dropping roofline, and a rising shoulder line hint at an overall sporty appearance.

The Baleno-rival will launch with more powerful versions of the Tiago’s 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engines. It is being said that the Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which outputs a maximum power of 110 PS along with a peak torque of 170 Nm, will be made available at a later stage.
