According to this post, the owner tells that the car crashed into the wall but the driver escapes unhurt. This is a testament to the build quality of Tata Tiago. However, what was a bit weird is that the airbags didn’t open. This is not something that happens too often. While we don’t know the exact details of the incident, it is possible that the driver might not have fastened his/her seatbelt. If the driver is not using his seatbelt, modern cars don’t allow the airbags to open during an accident. This is because you are not stable in your seat and the force from the airbags might actually cause more damage to you than otherwise. That is the reason why you must always wear your seatbelt. Also, sometimes if the speed is extremely low and the car hits something, the airbags are not programmed to open. This is because, at such low speeds, there is no use for airbags as the impact will be very mild and replacing the airbags will cost a lot.
