Tata Tiago Sport will likely become the lowest price hot hatchback in India

Rumours abound that the Tata Tiago Sport launch is about to take place. Speculated to become the cheapest hot hatch in the country, the Tiago Sports model will have a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that outputs a maximum power of 110 PS at 5,000 RPM along with a peak torque of 170 Nm between 1,750 RPM to 4,000 RPM. There are good chances of the Tiago Sport making an official debut at the Auto Expo 2018. A late-February launch can’t be ruled out. The Tiago Sport will come with an aero kit comprising of front and rear diffusers, side skirts and a rear spoiler. Also, chances are that it will even have some body graphics and a couple of new paint options. The alloy wheels will be bigger in diameter and more stylish. The inclusion of an aero kit will lead to slight changes in the dimensions of the Tata Tiago. Currently, the Tiago is 3,746 mm long, 1,647 mm wide and 1,535 mm tall. Powering the new Tiago Sport will be the same 1.2-litre Revotron turbo petrol engine that powers the Nexon. This engine outputs a max. power of 110 PS along with a peak torque of 170 Nm. The motor will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and the suspension will be slightly stiffer than that of the regular model. The interior will also see some styling changes.

Tata Tiago Sport Launch Date

While the company is yet to reveal a launch date, there are good chances that the new model will make its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018. Soon thereafter, it is expected to launch in the car market by the end of February 2018.

Tata Tiago Sports Price in India

Tata Motrs has been pricing its cars pretty aggressively of late. The Tiago and the Tigor enjoy clever pricing. Even the Hexa’s competitive price makes it a value-for-money offering. We expect a similar approach for the Tiago sports model. Prices of the upcoming model are likely to start at Rs 6 lakh and go all the way to Rs 7 lakh for the fully loaded model.
